Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Here's something special. I'm actually a big BMW fan in real life, and i know back in the late 80s, the E30 M3 rocked the world. But since there are many great replicas of that car already on the forums, i decided not to make another one. I know, back then there was no 1series. But what if there was?

I also built an engine for it. But since everyone knows this is a remoldel of a non-existent car in 2014, i decided to give it a modern engine as well. It's a 3.0L I6T with 326hp which is totally by accident the same amout of power you get from the M235i, my favourite BMW currently produced ;) Here's the stats:

Image

I'm pretty surprised about the fuel usage, i thought it would be higher.
Anyway i hope you like it :)

Greets,
Tom

PS: I wasn't sure whether i should post this here or in the Car Replica thread, although technically it's not a replica because there was no such car in real life...

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Back to Modern-day cars! I'm very excited to show all of you the new design for the Grizzly! There's only one Grizzly now, and that will be the one formerly known as Grizzly XL, so it has a long wheelbase and a big V8. Why is this the only Grizzly? Because the smaller ones didn't sell very well. You see, the rich people who buy this car always want the top-end version and obviously there's no cheap Grizzly for average people.

Image

Image

Image

This car features an 8.5L NA V8 (cause a TT version wouldn't fit) and it makes 700hp and 890Nm of torque. Coupled with AWD and an 8-speed double-clutch gearbox, it is capable of doing 0-100km/h in 3.1 seconds despite weighing 2 tons. Also, it'll reach 365km/h. Sorry Bentley. This is now the fastest 4 door saloon currently in production. EDIT: It isn't. I don't know how i could forget that the Eagle HP saloon will do 378km/h.

Image

The price for all this luxury and speed? 250.000€, which is pretty adequate for a rival of the Bentley Continental, i would say. Moreover, i think 13l/100km isn't that bad for a 2 ton car with an 8.5L engine. What do you guys think? :)

Tom

700hp from a V8 in a 4 door saloon sheeeeeesh. This car could do the world a favour and blow away those disgusting Porsche Cayennes favoured by soccer mums and rich guys who want a Porsche but married a soccer mum.

You've done some real trickery there to get things as well balanced as they are. And I agree with pleb, awesome job on the headlights, it lends a sporting aggression to the look without disrupting the contours and line.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Thanks Strop! The Grizzly is actually aimed towards the Bentley Continental, thus the long wheelbase. And i honestly don't know how i get such high g-forces and sportiness rating, the suspension is nowhere near its sharpest but it had to be stiffened a little bit to prevent the car from rolling too much.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Has someone called the doctor? If yes, he will be arriving much sooner today because he will be driving the special edition AdVance from DQE. Traditionally, Ambulance cars are white with a red cross (at least in Austria). On this car, it's the other way round because this is by no means a traditional Ambulance car. (and also because there's no red headlights to make a red cross so far)

Image

Image

Image

What's so untraditional about this car? Well, obviously the looks, but also the engine. Who else has a 6.2L V8 with 514hp in their ambulance car? That, along with an 8-speed double-clutch gearbox and AWD makes this car incredibly fast and it will even reach speeds in excess of 300km/h, but of course safety is the number one priority.

Image

This is just the car when it's standing still. When it's actually moving with all the lights on is what you will be able to see in Nyancatx3's awesome new thread which is all about emergency vehicles :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Hey everyone! As we are getting close to 100 posts in this thread, i present you the new Eagle! The coupe is up first:

Image

And here's the saloon:

Image

Image

Image

The reason i decided to redesign the Eagle was this: I know the Eagle is going to be one of the best selling cars in my company because of the class it competes in (BMW 3 and 4 series, Audi A4, Mercedes C class,....). However, up to this point, the Eagle was always a bit of a toad, not really the prettiest car to look at. So i thought: why shouldn't everyone get the chance to drive a good-looking car? :)

EDIT: I can't give you the HP versions yet. Their design is done but i don't have the engine here on the laptop, it's on the PC which i can't use at the moment :/

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Hey guys and girls, today i'm going to present you a car that comes in 4 different variants, 2 of which will be posted in the Speed Academy thread. It's the Fly!
Normally, the Fly is an affordable everyday hatchback with RWD and good fuel economy:

Image

Image

Image

The basic engine is a 1.5L I4T which makes for some pretty average numbers, other than very low fuel consumption. The same goes for the 2.0L I4T, the other option on the normal Fly.

Image

Then, there's the HP version which i'm going to post here in this thread even though it it a bit more powerful and faster than the Flea HP in the SA thread. The reason for that is that the HP version is nowhere near the fastest version of the Fly, and because this is my Golf GTI rival and i consider the Golf GTI a pretty normal car.

Image

Image

Image

Image

The 1.5L Fly's price starts at 16.500€, the 2.0 costs 17.500€ and the HP will cost you 22.000€. All of them are less expensive and more economical than a Golf with comparable power.
Don't forget to check out the Speed Academy thread, i will upload the other two versions of the Fly there in the next couple of minutes!

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

In the 100th post of this thread i'm not going present another car. I'd like to thank all of you who have taken their time to check my designs out and left me some feedback. There aren't honestly too many peolpe who give me feedback on my designs, and for me that means i'm going to put even more effort into my designs and hope for more people to respond. The worst thing for me is not getting any feedback because that tells me i'm average; not bad but not great either. So i'm gonna try and improve the quality of my designs to attract more people and thus gain more feedback.
I don't want everyone to praise my designs, i don't want everyone to react exlculsively in a good way. Tell me whatever you think about them as long as it's not a destructive hate message. I'm fine with people saying "I don't like this or that, you should try and improve it by doing X".

That being said, also check out the first post of this thread! I added some more general info about the company

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Alright, guys! Time for post number 101! Here we go again and this time it's the new design for the Mantis!

Image

Image

Image

Now, the car size may be about equal to a Polo or a Mito, but the engine size was always a bit bigger, starting with a 1.6L I4T that makes 125hp and the next step was already the 2.0L with 160hp.
But this car is basically aimed at young people, as the design suggests. However, if you're 18 and you want a hot looking hatchback, you might not have the 17.500€ necessary to buy the 1.6L Mantis.

That's why i decided to break some of my rules. For the first time ever, a DQE car will be powered by an engine with less than 1L of capacity. It has 800cc, is naturally aspirated and makes 80hp. Also, the interior is now pretty basic and you don't get driver aids other than ABS, and (also for the first time in a DQE) you only get standard safety features.
All that results in a car that weighs just 781kg. This way, the 80hp is enough to go from 0 to 100km/h in 10.3 seconds and the car will only use 3.7l/100km. AND: It will only cost you 10.000€, which is a sum that an 18-year-old may possess if he worked for it. (If not, he won't be able to buy a car anyway, unless he has rich parents).

So... the only question left is: what colour would you like? You can choose between red (as displayed), black, white, yellow, sky blue or royal blue.

Get yours today at your local DQE dealer or directly from the factory in southern Austria!

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome a new DQE family member! The Leo! This is DQE's competitor for the BMW 5 series (might be a tough competitor though).

Image

Image

Image

It's refined and elegant, not only on the outside, but also on the inside. Like its german rivals, it comes with premium interior (+5 quality), premium entertainment, all driver aids (except Launch Control) and advanced safety features. But unlike the 5 series, it's made from aluminium which makes it much lighter. Below are the stats of this car with its most popular engine, the 30t6e with 205hp and great fuel economy:

Image

The price is 45.000€ for the 3.0L eco model. That's a little bit less than what the BMW 520i costs, and yet the Leo is more powerful and more economical.

Obviously, if you don't like black, there are some other colours available as well: midnight blue, dark green, maroon, arctic grey and white

However, if you want something even more exclusive and a lot more power, stay tuned for the Leo XX! It will be posted in the Speed Academy thread tomorrow :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Time to present something from the future! You guys are the first to see a sneak peak of a 2020 model of DQE which will be presented at the Vienna motor show in January 2015 and is for now called Futuro but will be renamed once it's put into production.

Image

Image

Image

This model gets several features that today's DQE models don't have: headlights which are integrated into the main grille, thin square LED backlights, recycled carbon fibre as standard (which i think many cars will have by 2020) and of course some new engines as well which 2014's engines just can't match. The basic engine is a 1.5L I4T with 110hp and over 42% efficiency. And even though the car gets premium interior, standard 20s entertainment and advanced 20s safety features, it weighs less than 900kg and uses just 3.05l/100km. But it will do 0-100km/h in 7.2 seconds. Then, there's a sportier version of the same 1.5L block, which makes 200hp, 0-100 in 5.0s and uses 4.5l/100km.
Then, there's a 2.0L I4T block, again with two different tunes. The 2.0 eco makes 150hp and also about 42% efficiency, getting from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds while using just 3.5l/100km. Last but definitely not least, the 2.0L sport version: 250hp, 0-100 in 4.4 seconds and 4.8l/100km.

This car, whatever its name will end up being, will definitely set the benchmark in the entry-level to mid-range sports coupe section. It offers plenty of power as well as surprisingly low fuel consumption for a reasonable price (27.500€ for the 1.5 eco, 29.000€ for the 1.5 sport, 30.500€ for the 2.0 eco, 33.000€ for the 2.0 sport)

Be the first to preorder! But first, choose your colour! You can have white, sky blue, royal blue, midnight blue, black, arctic grey, lime green or yellow.
