Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [WAIT FOR RESUL

Looking through the cards again, I'm thinking the Adder actually has a much higher chance of success than it's predecessor from Group B. Even if it is impossible to drive in a straight line.

I too had to fit high-end interior (And premium entertainment too if I remember correct  ) to get to the minimum weight required

"Meh" is a non-committal noise to indicate lack of strong feeling either way. The comment on driveability seems to be an estimate based loosely on the ratio of tameness to sportiness (the higher the ratio, the easier it presumably is to drive). The top end turbo cars have massive turbo lag so they take a huge hit in tameness but also get a boost in sportiness due to the theoretically higher max power.

This said I'm taking it your suspension setup was quite aggressive on turn-in (high negative camber on front wheels, soft on the front and firm on the rear) to get cornering figures like that despite presumably lower downforce as implied by the top speed. That being said, your car's tame:sporty ratio is still a fair bit higher than mine, which would be quite scary :P

Actually, the camber is the same on front and rear, and I only had to play with the swaybars to get the car balanced :P Also, the topspeed of my car is limited by my gearbox, although I have a decent amount of downforce ;)

I suppose the high horsepower gave you a serious penalty on the tameness, whilst I opted to sacrifice (a lot of) power to get the engine more tame, I gotta compliment you on the torque figure though. :P

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [WAIT FOR RESUL

I'm pretty unsure of how I did now, I sacrificed a lot of speed. Maybe far too much :S

So who do you guys think will do well? I'm liking this one,

I also think it's looks awesome :D

Before you get too worried, the tracks were pretty bumpy and it's a rally. Since when did rally cars approach 300km/h? :P

My guess is that the top speed (during the race) of any car in this rally will not be above 250kmh, and will only occur on the fastest stage (Stage 4).

Mine was able to top 250kph on the Hillcimb one twice, the rest of the time was always 80-230, first time was only about 255 and second was almost 270 on that second to last straight before the finish. Other than that I think mine will be a slow boat on anything but the fast tracks.

Edit: Just tested my car on the Airfield, 1:23.28. Faster than a Lamborghini Murciélago, slower than a Porsche 997 GT3, on par with a Ferrari F430 Spider F1 :D

My car broke 250kph by a wide margin (reaching up to 280kph) on the leg we could test on. The main reason for that is the sheer power and rather low gearing of the gearbox. It gets to about 216kph within 11 seconds. I got about 1.22 on the airfield test track.

Not bad! I am not good a building turbo engines so I went with the best NA that I could, only 30kW less than yours. Grandma or Grandpa might not be able to drive yours but they would feel at home in my big ol' sedan :P That is a damned quick 0-100 time you have.............

The results of one stage will be released each day. The first stage will be released later today

I could have gotten the top speed to 360ish KPH but I sacrificed around 60KPH in speed to get increased down-force to improve the cornering so that its 1.25g at 89kph. That's one reason why it seems to get to it's top speed so fast, its top speed is normally a LOT higher. One configuration I made with that engine and a different body broke 400kph but tameness was below 10 so it was not entered.

I could have gotten 1.25g at 91kph but that would have lowered the top speed to around 275kph and I actually lost time (2 to 3 seconds) on the first part of the race in tests with that set up so I left it at 1.25g at 89kph and a top speed of 300kph.

It takes a LOT of power to generate down-force. If I were to guess I think I am using 60 to 80 HP just to get the down-force the car is generating.

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [STAGE 1 RESULT

Oh ho ho ho ho one stage a day!? I don't know if I can stand the suspense!!!

That said a good start for the WRT Turbo team, at least. Though we all know that stage 1 is the fast stage, so what happens next remains to be seen...

p.s. my dark horse pick of the day would be Junny's Volvo 240. Imagine a Volvo 240 being so #%(&ing fast!!!
