Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [OPEN]

I wondered if anyone would use loads of wings, it's a widely used tactic to get top times on the Airfield and Automation Lap Boards. :P

I wonder why no one posted that as a bug.

PMs will be sent to those who need to build another car shortly.

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [OPEN]

PMs are sent to the people who used more than 2 wings and 2 lips. Thankfully, not too many people are affected.

BRC 1100:
- 07CobaltGirl
- conan_murder
- DaMasK
- OCAdam

Super 1000:
- 07CobaltGirl
- benpeltz
- Forge91
- OCAdam
- Stryfe

These people will be allowed to send in another car. Please note that the affected people are not considered as cheaters. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [OPEN]

Is that 2 wings and 2 lips per side, or in total? presumably it is per side because I have two lips at the front (one in the middle of the bumper and one at the bottom), one lip at the back (at the bottom), and two wings at the back made to look like a double layer wing. However, they aren't running at anything close to the maximum angle, so it shouldn't be a major problem

Also, don't forget people can hide lips within lips and wings within wings

2 wings and lips per car. I know they can be hidden, that's why I count them by removing them from the car. Probably I didn't count properly on your car, I'll take another look. One car had around 25 wings, 3 of them visible. :(

you obviously missed one of the lips on my car then, probably upper front lip. I'll make a new entry and resend it

Yeah, I didn't see the second one at the front. Thanks for your honesty!

However, they aren't running at anything close to the maximum angle, so it shouldn't be a major problem

That's exactly how the exploit works: Many wings/lips, low inclination.

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [OPEN]

Resubmitted! S1000 has front and rear lower lip, a wing at the top of the hatch and a spoiler (lip) at the bottom of the hatch window. I hope that will be OK. BRC1100 has only lower lips front/rear and a double-wing on the trunk.

It gives crazy amounts of downforce with minimal drag.

Re: Bavarian Rallye Challenge: The Real Deal [OPEN]

SimTech Racing has just recently completed working on the Hercules S1000, which will be driven by special guest driver Walther Röhrl during all six stages of the Bavarian Rallye Challenge.
Rumours of problems with the aerodynamics have been greatly exaggerated and Röhrl himself stated that he's "wery ekscited tu draiv dese monsters like in good ol time".
Confusion arised when Röhrl was reminded that he's not participating in the BRC, but the Super 1000 class, with a lot less horsepower.
After a half minute of silence, Röhrl finally said in his deep roaring voice: "Dat's wat u sink!", leaving the room and the press in awe.

Is the weight requirement the total weight of the assembled car?

If you push down on the back of the car, the front will be lifted up a bit. Automation was giving you the pushing at the rear, but not the lift at the front, meaning that you could get a lot more downforce than you should have got. The same thing happend with front wings/lips, but in reverse)

I've sent my revised entry in. I hope its OK because I have lots of uni stuff that I really need to get on with. it probably isn't quite as fast as my old entry though
