Newlands Motor Company Design Brochure

After the recent updates, the models were scrapped. What were the engineers even thinking of?!

1954 - Newlands Towncar

Initially only an off-the-cuff idea, but after Newlands produced a few sketches of his vision of mass production motor vehicle, project Bug was put into action. Finishing his work on a design for one of Britain's most prestigious car maker meant he could devote his whole time to the project, and in May 1954, the Newlands Towncar was finally presented to the masses.

The vehicle is designed to deliver reliability, comfort and prestige. Not only should the driver arrive in style, but have the ability to leave in speed and comfort.

"A ride so smooth you light a cigar whilst seeing three digits on the autobahn." Automachine Magazine

1957 - Newlands Type 57

A vehicle based on a similar design to that of the Towncar, but on a totally redesigned chassis.

Added luxuries and power made this their most luxurious vehicle yet, showing the growing exuberance of Newlands' vision.

1962 - Newlands Towncar Mk.2

A new design for the mass market, borrowing and building upon what went before.

In order to build exotic, funds were needed, and this was to be the vehicle to bring the money in.

Minor revisions happened year after year, and made this one of the most popular family saloon's of the 60's.

1960's - Details not yet released.

1974 - Newlands Volke

Borrowing design inspiration from the German manufacturers, Newlands began to produce their first hatchback vehicle, which was in huge demand.

The car was a huge hit. With only three versions of the model, but that made the car hugely popular and continued its success well into the early 70's.

In the Turbo form, the car saw many rally victories through privateer teams, leading to the creation of the Turbo EX edition of the vehicle. Good acceleration, agility and straight line speed lead to success on the race track too, with over 100 wins across British, German, Scandavian and Australian touring car championships.

More to come soon..

Re: Newlands Motor Company Design Brochure

New items have been added to the brochure.

More models have been released in the 1960's, but are yet to be fully documented.
