Diamante Motors

Diamante Motors was founded in 1955, a period shortly after the world war. As a struggling man who tried to make a living bounces off his great debts and finally saved up some money, with the approval of the bank for a loan he sets out to create what is today recognized as one of the most well made cars in the world. Ranging from family sedans to extreme sport coupe's and even full blown hot rods, Diamante motors delivers a well made car for a fair market price.
Diamante motors (DM for short) hopes to have you along for the ride as it sets out on this forum to introduce a whole new series of models. Be ready for anything!

Welcome to the beginning of pride.

You see, when Diamante Motors was created, it was not about the fame, the fortune, or even the status. No. Diamante started out with one man who wanted to leave his mark on the automotive industry. His goal? To create automobiles that were quality, but at the same time affordable. That was when the first automobile by Diamante was thought up.
Ladies, Gentlemen, and car enthusiasts this was the beginning of the Diamante Bella.

You see, Bella was more then just an automobile, it was the beginning of a new era, a new company, and most importantly a new legacy. In March 11th of 1955 the Diamante Bella was released and became an instant classic.

With the design came a new concept for how cars would be made. This was a car that, for its time, featured some great luxuries. Lets go through the car shall we? Bella featured an all steel ladder chassis and body. It featured a macpherson strut front end suspension, and a solid axle coil rear suspension. For a drive train it featured: A 139 cubic inch inline 6 engine that put out 101hp@4700rpms and 125 ft/lb of torque @3400 and redlined at 4800. This was not bad for 1955 considering it was a 2 valve pushrod, full cast iron 4 barrel engine. Oh? Did i mention it only cost 530$ to produce? Yeah. The transmission was a 3 gear cruiser rwd transmission and sat on 175/550/14 tires. Yes, the rims were only 14 inches. The entire car came in at 2183 lbs. Not bad for an all steel ladder chassis i should say. The real class of this car came in its toys. Bella featured a luxurious interior equipped with, you would not believe, air conditioning and power steering. 1955+ power steering? Am i hearing this right? It featured Luxury Entertainment as well as all standard safety features.

This automobile shined in its beautiful touches of chrome found present all around the car. Bella was known also to be easy on the pocket, both gas and market wise. The automobile came in at 10.13 lt/100km for fuel economy. And came in at a msrp of $32,999 (canadian dollars) (prices included for all Diamantes models will be based on a Canadian economy and market value of the year 2000 in Canada)
This was the Diamante Bella, and the automobile that started a mark for a legacy.

Diamante Bella Basic

Not every man and woman could obviously afford to get a car that was luxurious and classy. Then again, not every man and or woman could afford a new car period. So 1 year later, in 1956 Diamante Released a model of "Bella" that was a basic package. The chrome pieces were removed, the body slightly revamped to be smaller and cheaper to produce, and of course a few other tweaks.
The tires featured on this model were now 155/550/14 not as wide, and smaller rims to make it a little more cost friendly.
The frame remained an all steel ladder chassis and body. Suspension also remained the same.
The engine was a little less powerful and the car was a bit more fuel efficient. Numbers were rated at 95hp@4600 rpms and 118ft/lb of torque@2900 the redline remained at 4800, and remained 139 cubic inches. The transmission also remained 3 speed.
The interior was changed to a standard 50's look, there were no entertainment options and safety was set to a standard option. The car weighed in at 1910 lbs and got a surprisingly good 8.64L/100km
The final MSRP for the basic package was $25,995

Diamante Boush

In 1958 Diamante released a model that was meant to be for the single (or married man) to cruise around in. The first 2 door sporty automobile was released by Diamante.
The car still had an all steel ladder chassis, and remained the same as previous models in the suspension area.
Drive train featured a standard 153 cubic inch inline 6 that had 107hp@ 4700 rpms and 134 ft/lb of torque@ 2900 rpms. It still remained a 3 gear rwd transmission and sat on tires of 195/500/15.
The car had a premium interior and entertainment system, equipped with standard safety features. The entire car weighed in at 2004lbs and had 4 seats.
Getting a fuel economy rating of 8.47L/100kms was nothing to laugh at either!
The engine remained 4barrel and 2 valve push rod heads.
This was the first car by Diamante capable of reaching 0-100km/h in just over 10 seconds. (10.20)
This began the mark of the sport cars to be made in the future years of Diamante.
The final MSRP for the Boush came in at 26,999.

Diamante Galancia

The turn of the decade had just happened and the sixties had arrived! This meant that Diamante had also had something new planned for the early sixties, a whole new line of cars!
The first model to be released happened to be there biggest, heaviest car yet. A full sized 4 door sedan. It was to be named the Diamante Galancia. It was built on the same suspension and chassis as all previous models, all steel.
Thus the car weighed in at 3080lbs. This was a car for the upper class of people as it featured premium entertainment, interior and safety features. Well thought out design and quality was put in to this car. It sat on 195/625/14 for wheels all the way around. Capable of seating 5 comfortably the Galancia was a family sedan for those who seeked a little more in the automobile industry.
For a drive train it featured Diamantes first ever V8 engine! 275 cubic inches of all cast iron 2 valve push rod motor. Transmitting the power to the ground was a rear wheel drive 3 gear transmission upgraded to handle the extra torque of this bigger motor. The engine specs were as followed.
187hp@4300
249ft/lb torque@3200
This motor was capable of taking the 3080lb automobile from 0-100km/h in just 10.02 seconds. Diamantes fastest production sedan yet!
All this was available at an msrp of $39,999
It was certainly not the cheapest model offered by Diamante but it was also not the worst!

Diamante Announcement

Between the years of 1960 and 1963 Diamante discontinued making any new models in order to prevent the market from over flooding and causing a decrease in profit and efficiency.
By the year 1964 we expect to have new models released and an increase in quantity of cars produced. We expect this will lead to a slight drop in msrp's for future models!

Diamante Announcement

As of the year 1964 Diamante has produced a prototype of the next model to be released.
The only news as of now is that the car will be a 2 door. With the increase in popularity of american v8's could this be a car set out to compete in the muscle car class...?

Diamante Tackler

In 1965 the world had dropped its jaw. For the first time in1965 Diamante created something they never really set out to do in the debut of the company back in 1955. They created there first classic and iconic muscle car.
This was released as the Diamante Tackler.
It featured a macpherson front end suspension, solid rear axle coil, and steel ladder chassis, just like every model released previously by Diamante.
However, something changed.
The styling of this model was like that of none of any of Diamantes models. It was mean. Aggressive, and had a little more bark under the metal.
The engine was a 400 cubic inch v8 push rod 2 valve full castiron engine. One of the bigger engines you could have in a car period at the time of 1965.
The engine put out 290hp@4000 rpms and a whopping 393ft/lb of torque at 3600rpms. In 1965, this was almost unheard of. The car featured something Diamante had never done before, a 4 gear manual transmission.
The entire car weighed 3349 the heaviest car yet, and sat on wheels that were 205/635/15 in the front and 245/635/15 in the back.
The economy of this car was not good by any means, how could it be with such a massive engine? 16.11L/100kms
It was not just a muscle car Diamante kept some of the roots of its taste. The car featured premium interior, premium entertainment, and premium safety features.
The engine ran off 98 leaded fuel.
This was the first car Diamante ever produced that had a 0-100 time of 7.14 seconds! Almost 3 seconds faster then there previous fastest model the Galancia.
The car was not cheap either coming in at $43,999
Diamante tries to remain in a budget friendly territory with the engine build, otherwise how could they build cars if they werent going to sell?
Talk of a limited edition Tackler has spread amongst the industry but nothing is for sure yet.
Diamante had secured a place in the automobile industry with the release of the tackler.

Diamante Bella Chrome Line

In 1965 many were depressed that the Bella had been discontinued for some odd years. So Diamante took it in to there own hands that they would bring it back, and boy was it better then ever.
The model they came back with was the Bella Chrome Line, it featured the most luxurious aspects of a classy car alongside the best technology of the time. Oh and it was very, very shiny, did i mention that?

It featured a revamped model of the inline 6 found in the original Bella but a bit bigger, and better. Although it featured all the same components (cast iron everything. 2valve push rod) it was better because technology had managed to become a bit better. The engine found in the chrome line was a 148 cubic inch inline 6 that produced 121hp@5100rpms and 136ft/lb of torque @ 3700 running on 92 leaded fuel. Transmitting the power was a 3 gear rwd transmission with 185/550/14 to plant the power to the ground. The cars improved 0-100 time was 10.7 seconds. Luxurious interior and entertainment made this car classy, and the premium safety features made it very safe. Power steering was included in this model.
The car could seat 5 people, and weighed in at 2208 lbs. Very nice weight. The car was easy on the wallet in terms of gas 9.88L/100kms meant you could afford to daily drive this one!
This car was no where near the level of the Tackler in performance aspect, but it was never intended to be. This was the Gentle men car and thus the chrome and luxury of the car was of the utmost quality.
The chrome line came in at an msrp of $40,999
If what your telling your self is "wow, i might as well get a tackler or galancia for that price!" You clearly dont understand the prestige of Bella.
