Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Hey everyone, its time to officially announce the arrival of the new Mantis!

Crazy as always and wider than ever, there's more to it than just the optic changes.
You can now have a 1.6L I4t as entry-level engine. It makes 125hp and uses just 3.7l/100km while doing 0-100km/h in 8.7 seconds.
There's no more 6-cylinder engines because... well, they don't fit any more since the new patch <.<

Other than the 1.6, there's one 2.0 block in several different versions.
Eco (turbocharged only for more power and better fuel consumption): 160hp, 4.1l/100km, 7.4s 0-100
Fun NA: 211hp, 6.2l/100km, 6.1s 0-100
Fun T: 234hp, 6.1l/100km, 5.2s 0-100
Sport NA: 250hp, 7.2l/100km, 5.1s 0-100
Sport T: 315hp, 7.3l/100km, 4.5s 0-100

All of them are RWD, feature ESP, stability control, power steering and ABS as well as advanced safety features.

The price for the 1.6l will be probably around 21.000€, making it cheaper, faster, lighter and more economical than the 1.2l 105hp Golf. For the Sport T, the price will be probably around 32.000€, making it 13.000€ cheaper than the new Golf R (and faster as well!)

What do you think about it? :)

Greets,
Tom

PS: I will post the HP version in the Speed Academy thread as soon as i'm done with all the finetuning on it!

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Thanks Jak!
Today i want to show all of you the new Weta! It's kinda sad that since the latest patch, the 3.0 I6T that made this car doesn't fit any more -.- DEVS, WHY AREN'T WE ALLOWED TO PUT A 3.0 I6 INTO A HATCHBACK LIKE BMW DOES?

Anyway, here's the design:

Image

Image

Image

But just because the 3.0 is gone, that doesn't mean it's going to be worse than before. Yeah, it has a bit less power but you still get a powerful and smooth I6T, now with 2.5L and over-square as hell just to fit in.

Image

Overall, this car is a good all-rounder with emphasis on comfortable cruising and long-distance travelling. It's not a sports car, but it's not slow, it actually does 0-100kph in the same time as a BMW E46 M3 (and we all agree that an M3 is not a slow car, right?).

Image

With prices starting around 38.000€, this is 5.000€ more than the Golf GTI with performance package, but it's certainly worth the price because it will be much more well-equipped, more comfortable, more economical, better looking and faster.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you the new Eagle family, consisting of a coupe and a saloon version. As always, the Eagle is a competitor for the BMW 3 series and 4 series.
The coupe first:

Image

Image

Image

you're probably wondering why the door handles are in such an unusual position. It's because only the coupe gets optional reverse-scissor doors. If you know how Lamborghini doors open, then just imagine that mechanism the other way round.

Here's the saloon:

Image

Image

Image

this doesn't get optional reverse scissor doors because of technical difficulties with doing that.

Both get premium interior, standard entertainment and advanced safety features. Also, both of them get the same engines and the entry level is this, a 2.5L I6T with great fuel economy:

Image

Last but not least, the stats that the cars make with this engine. Because of difficulties with uploading the screenshots (bad internet connection), i'm going to list them myself.

Coupe:

Tameness: 51
Sportiness: 24.4
Comfort: 39.2
Prestige: 29.4
Safety: 40.4
0-100km/h: 6.54s
4.36l/100km economy

Saloon:

Tameness: 52.1
Sportiness: 22.7
Comfort: 39.7
Prestige: 29.8
Safety: 41.8
0-100km/h: 6.78s
4.55l/100km economy

The price for both will be around 35.000€, about the same as for a comparable BMW 320i but the Eagle makes for better fuel economy, actually about as good as the comparable BMW Diesel!

That was one hell of a post and i'm finally done :D Hope you enjoy ;)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Is there anyone who wants a small sports coupe but can't afford a 30k+ Mazda MX-5 coupe? Then this is perfect for you! It's the new Buzzard!

Image

Image

Image

The recipe for this car is: get more out of less. The standard version may only have a 1.2L I4T with 120hp but it does 0-100kph in 8.4 seconds and uses just 3.77L/100km. That's because it only weighs 1150kg. There's also a 1.4L version with 152hp and it does 0-100 in 6.7 secs (faster than a 2.5L BMW E90 325i) while using 4.4L/100km. So if you have the 18.500€ for the 1.2 or the 20.000€ for the 1.4, you'll be able to enjoy it for a long time because insurance costs are low and it's very economical.

Of course, there will also be an HP version and it will be posted in the Speed Academy Thread :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Of course, with the 1357/1358 patch, the sandbox got kinda bugged and only worked again after i deleted all platforms and models i made in the 1353 version. So i'll have to start again which i do with this, the new Sparrow!

Image

Also, the most important car for my company, the Mantis, has gotten a new design already!

The HP versions of both these cars will be posted in the Speed Academy thread :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Alright, i decided to build a car for all the 12- or 13-year-olds on this forum. I call it the Carancho.

Image

Image

Image

With a lime green carbon fibre body, an aggressive bodykit, a big wing, 4 exhausts and wide arches, it's perfect for a kid's bedroom wall.
Under the bonnet sits a ricer's idea of heaven: a 2.0L turbocharged I4 with 500hp.

Image

Comfort is obviously not a priority for a car like this, and even though it's RWD only, the numbers it makes are pretty impressive. It does the Ring in 474.73 seconds. According to Killrob, times in this game are about 10% slower than they would be in real life, which means that the Carancho would do the Ring in 7:07, faster than a Corvette ZR1 or Nissan GT-R. Even so, the Carancho would cost around 80.000-85.000€, making it cheaper than both of them.

When did he say that and for what track does that apply? The "quality" of the simulation depends mostly on the track definition and a bit on the constant speed through corners (not accelerating out of corners). 10% really is a lot. The Green Hell acutally is somewhat calibrated to the real life times by giving 10% more grip in corners. This specific track might still be slightly too slow, but more in the 1-3% area. The Airfield Track was even a bit too fast (according to closed beta testing) and we tried to offset that with the penalisation for undriveable cars.

Killrob Edit: Yes, that was said in regards to the green hell track a while back :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Hey everyone, today i present you something a bit less crazy than the Carancho. It's the new Eagle. We start with the Coupe:

Image

Image

Image

And here's the Saloon:

Image

Image

Image

The saloon features an extra thin grille on the front because for some reason, the same fixtures as on the coupe didn't result in the same amount of cooling power.

As always, the coupe rivals the BMW 4series and the saloon competes with the 3series. The HP versions will be posted in the Speed Academy thread tomorrow :)

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Today i'd like to show you guys the new design for the Puma. It is a competitor for the Subaru WRX. If you find any similarities on the front end (well, compared to an older generation WRX/Impreza), they are intended.

Image

Image

Image

The new WRX uses a turbocharged 2.0L flat 4 with 268hp. The Puma uses a 2.0L turbocharged I4 to keep things fair, and it makes 275hp. However, the WRX takes 5.5 seconds from 0-100km/h whereas the Puma will do it in 4.2 seconds. The Puma is probably lighter, and most likely more economical as well.

Image

Like the WRX, the Puma comes with 5 seats and AWD. Considering it has a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox, i think 32.000€ is a fair price. Especially when you remember that it does 0-100km/h just as fast as a 70.000€ Corvette C7.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Unfortunately, today the monitor of my PC stopped working. I'll still be on the forums with my laptop but i won't be posting new designs for the next couple of days (until i get a new monitor) because the laptop is 5 years old and very slow, it even takes 5 minutes or more to just open Automation. I tried working on a new design on the laptop but first i had to patch for more than an hour because it was still in version 1113, that's when i last patched it because after i got the PC i used exclusively the PC for Automation. And trying to design a car with this laptop is painful. Not only due to its sluggishness, also because it only features a clumsy touchpad rather than a mouse, which is very bad for designing a car.

I hope you guys can understand if i'm not as active in this thread as usual.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

I said designing a car on this laptop is painful, and it is. But sometimes, overcoming this pain leads to big pleasure.

Previously, if you wanted something sporty, everyday usable, fast and luxurious with 4 doors but not from Germany, you had to choose between the Jaguar XJ and the Maserati Quattroporte.
But now, DQE offers you a viable alternative! It's the new Tiger! (And it doesn't count as German because DQE is located in Austria)

Image

Image

Image

The standard version comes with a 3.5l turbocharged I6, making 400hp. This makes for some pretty good numbers:

Image

Wanna know another good number? The price. The entry level Quattroporte is 107.700€ here in Austria. The 3.5L Tiger will cost you 99.500€, making it 8.200€ less expensive and that's enough money to buy fuel for about 75.000km of driving (with current prices around 1.30€/l here in Austria), thanks to the pretty acceptable fuel economy.

Re: DQE - Design, Quality, Emotion

Today i got an idea of inventing a new type of car. Have you ever been to your local car dealer and thought "uhmm, i don't know... should i take the hatchback or the estate?"
Happily, DQE offers you both in one car, the 3-door compact estate called Flea!

Image

Image

Image

Once you've gotten over the unusual back-end styling, you'll find that this reasonably priced model is perfect for everyday living. With AWD and a choice of either a 1.3L or a 1.5L I4T, both of which will only use 3.6l/100km, it's the ideal daily driver. There's plenty of space on the inside, too. And if you're in a hurry, the 1.5 will get you from 0-100km/h in 9.2 seconds which is about as fast as your neighbour's E36 BMW 320i, but your insurance is lower and you'll have to refuel once in the same time that he will refuel 3 times.
All that for a price of just 15.000€ (1.3L) or 16.500€ (1.5L) sounds too good to be true, but it isn't. Check your local DQE dealer for more infos :)
