Revisions, Badge Engineering & dev costs

Going forward, when we revise an existing platform to improve or facelift it, will we be able to save money on development costs since we are not designing from scratch?
Also will we be able to save one platform into multiple brands (e.g. VAG's Up!, Citigo, Mii & A0 ) or cascade older designs down to other brands when the primary brand has finished with them (e.g. Audi A6 became the Seat Exeo) and have similar savings as we still using the same platform?

I would say most likely yes to all of those.
