Re: BRC: Bavarian Rallye Challenges [BUILD]

To be fair, i only had three hours where I could make an entry before heading off to my parents for the weekend, but you've had several days. (that's my excuse anyway :D )

By the way, i totally forgot to include my nationality in my PM. Can you put me down as England or UK or whichever of the billion names our group of islands have that you are using

Doesn't matter. Der_Bayer´s car will be faster anyway. :)

Re: BRC: Bavarian Rallye Challenges [BUILD]

The real question is how tame is the car versus the sportiness. That peaky power looks like it'd be a real handful to control. In other news, the track sim seems to be very funny with the suspension tuning. I won't say in what way, as it may yet come to show funny as in slower, or funny as in somehow faster.

With a 100kg weight penalty, it will be quite impressive if he is faster. I cant remember the exact figures, but i remember that in F1 just a few kilos of extra weight makes a huge difference in the lap times. For example, because jean eric vergne is a bit heavier than his teammate, he is at a ~0.4s per lap disadvantage (because they cannot get the weight of the car down to the minimum weight allowed with jean eric vergne)

The deadline has passed and I won't accept any more entries. We have 55 entries, 33 in Group B and 22 in Demo 1600. Lots of work for me!

Now it is time for checking if all cars obey the rules. Stay tuned for the results!

I wait with anticipation! In the meantime, I think I'll continue to work on Road Atlanta... I have a general 'it at least stays on the track... mostly' version done though.

Re: BRC: Bavarian Rallye Challenges [closed]

I have mentioned it in the bug section but im concerned that there may potential be a bug in the game that changes the stats without having changed anything. This potentially may cause problems with cars that are close to the weight restriction.

For example my demo 1600 car shows on the model selection screen as 808kg. If I were to press revise model between different other models and come back the stats seem to be "recalculated" and change. I have seen the same car unchanged range from 780kg to 830kg.

If anyone is aware of this issue or what it may be let me know as im stumped.

A click up and down on a brake size slider usually solves it and gives the right stats.

very fun!!

i think i missed something:

1 - the car remains the same for all tracks on this challenge (one single upload), right?
2 - if we missed the first race, can we upload for the next ones in this challenge?

thanks!

I think that this challenge is going to be fun, 500+bhp turbo monsters VS 300-400bhp road magnets :D

Except for those of us that tried a V8 turbo monster and made a pitiful 450bhp. Hopefully I have some sort of redeeming factor that will help me out somehow

Re: BRC: Bavarian Rallye Challenges [closed]

Scrutineering is now over and it's a shame that I had to disqualify 20% of all competitors. Protest now if you think it's worth it. And no, it's not because of the weight differences when loading a model. Results of stage 1 will be in tomorrow.

You can now see all entries and a rough estimation of their expected performance based on some stats below. You can also download the individual pictures at the bottom of this post.

Excellent Commentary, Great Job. That is some scary competition :?

I did not even realise my Volvo had a tameness of 9!!! :o Several cups of cement will be had before setting out in that Swedish death trap.

I checked why my 1600 engine power curve is wonky and realised i had misclicked hypereutectic pistons instead of Forged  oh well that's what you get for rushing your entry, ECO Race car!
