race engines

Quick question I had my buddy was screwing around with the engine designer trying to make f1 replica engines. while I get perfect replica engines are not possible we seemed to be quite a bit far from the redline of last years f1 cars before we got valve failure, I explained the game might not be going in a direction where such engines are irrelevant in the games algoritmen for getting its power number numbers.

So I had 2 questions really, how is the tycoon element gonna work out with this? Of course road cars will be a thing, but will manufacturing/entering GT3 cars be a thing? F1 cars? LMP1 cars?

If such cars are going to be a thing are there any plans to reach f1 RPM levels? since it seems you currently cant get close to an 2013 f1 engine replica.

Re: race engines

Racing stuff isn't exactly the focus of the game, so it's very unlikely to see anything actually tailored for it until well after full 1.0 release. Also, F1 engines rev to their respective limits because of how their valves are designed. IIRC, they don't use springs to return them to their closed position. The closest you can do to a racing engine and high RPM are small motorcycle engines.

Ya that was our failure point was the valves when he was trying it I didnt know if they were using some kinda tech that simply isnt available in the game or not.

Yeah, just looked it up. It's pneumatically operated, which makes sense from an engineering point of view: springs can break, air... well I've never heard of air breaking!
