Future Body Design add ons to include lots of chrome?

Hi everyone,

I was watching youtube videos about this game and being a car enthusiast I had to get it. I got the $35 version and first thing wanted to ask a question regarding body design.
I was born way to late for my cars of choice (mid late 50s). I have owned several from the era from Packards to Buicks (mostly Buicks). What I noticed in the body design shop seemed to lack a great deal toward car designs around stainless and chrome. Will this be included in a future update or final release?

Thank You

Yes, the current choice of body types is especially poor for this era. That will change of course! We'll attempt to cover all eras and styles from the mid-40s to the mid-10s.
Cheers!

Re: Future Body Design add ons to include lots of chrome?

So large american-style cars that fit huge v8s and inline-6 and 8s will be included? I hate those things, but they gotta be there. Also, even small bmws fit up to 3.0L i6 and none of the in-game cars yet can.
Personally I'd like to see manhours and MTBF return rather than production units and reliability score of 0-100.

umm... I can fit an 8L I6 into at least one of the cars, I assume you're talking about B1323 and not B1353?

Oh and regarding Chrome, there are actually a bunch of cars that should have Chrome bumpers etc, but have wierd shiny black ones currently due to a bug with the Chrome material on car bodies.

I guess my launcher is not updating the game properly if there is a new build available.

b1353/1354 is currently only available for manual download because it's public beta and has some bugs.

Re: Future Body Design add ons to include lots of chrome?

The problem I see is that in the 50s US body design was very flamboyant and changed often year by year. Look at the 57-58 model years for example. As the 50s rolled on people wanted cars with more and more chrome. Would the tycoon part of the game have features to reflect customer demand on style/bodies of the cars? Example in the late 50s having a cheap car with little chrome would penalize your reputation where as in the 90s having cars with to much would penalize.

That penalty, if put in, then should only count for the regions which do had a lot of chrome. I think for this era, base models will be made which allow you to do some radical morphing, like making long fins and such. The chrome must come from the fixture you can place, in my opinion. As Daffy said, chrome is already there, but it is bugged at the moment.

No penalties for the lack of chrome :P that goes back to "Should looks matter?" which has been discussed in detail. :)

I agree. Thats why I said, IF they were to be implemented :)
I agree you cant really make decisions on how someone designed their car.

What about bonuses?
eg.:
Shark fins are popular, car with those is selling better.
This would be unrealistic if this won't be implemented.

Bonuses for one thing means the exact same thing as penalties for another thing. No is the answer.

And how are you going to define what is and what isn't a sharkfin?
Thats near to impossible. Lets take a fin has to be minimal 50 centimeters long to be a fin. What if someone wants a 49 centimeter fin? He or she doesn't get a bonus or does get a penalty?

As KillRob said, No. The devs made this game to have design freedom come with it and then they would limit it to give bonusses or penalties?
