There have been a number of cars that have become hugely successful here purely on the basis of how easily they could be modified. They Hyundai Excell being the obvious example but there are others.
If it really adds anything to the gameplay or how it could be implemented are two things I really don't have the time to think about or comment on right now though. Possibly tonight if I remember.
