Re: Cottam Auto Group

The design is nice, but you should refine the engine. If that's right that it uses only 77.6 RON, you should increase compression ratio by a lot! I also noticed that it takes over 2000 man hours to produce :D

Re: Cottam Auto Group

Oh yeah, I was gonna change the type of fuel to regular unleaded instead of premium, and increase the compression, but I was multitasking and I guess I got distracted or something :P And I'm not sure where all the man hours came from, the materials used were pretty standard.. I read a thread about gauging man hours and how many man hours was a decent amount but it didn't help much ;)

The quality sliders greatly affect man-hours.

Re: Cottam Auto Group

Oh, right I didn't check the sliders when EoD sent me the engine, so that might be the reason.

I'll just say it's the love and care that goes into making each and every Cottam Lusso XX Conveniently ignoring the fact that my workers will all be dying of exhaustion etc..

Re: Cottam Auto Group

1984 Marked Cottam Auto Group's reach into the rally car business. Submitting two cars to compete in the Bavarian Rallye Challenges' Group B and Demo 1600 classes.

Introducing Cottam Auto Group's Demo 1600 entry, the Fiori DX.

Powered by a tiny 1.6L V8 producing 191hp, the Fiori has a perfect combination of power and drivability. It's also cheap and easy to produce, inkeeping with the BRC guidelines.

And now for our Group B entry, the savage Cottam Sordes R.

Although it has more of a retro 'old-looking' style, contrary to that of the Fiori DX, the 2.1L turbocharged engine actually features more modernised technology than the Fiori engine. Featuring a mechanical fuel injection rather than the standard carburettors of its time. It has a far from modest 273hp and can do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

Nice looking set of cars, but uhm... doesn't the Group B car need to weigh at least 1100kg?

Thanks, but now that I look back on it, I don't like the circles I did on the grill. But other than that, it's still one of my favourite designs :)

Re: Cottam Auto Group

After a brief period of silence from Cottam Auto Group in recent months, it's finally time to release a new model!

It's called the Vector XX. A luxurious sports sedan designed to provide more British choice among Jaguar and Bentley fans.

Image
With contemporary, professional styling, you can look good anywhere you go. Be that a posh dinner party, or blasting round the 'Ring. There is nowhere in the world where this car would look out of place.

The raging beast under the hood is a 4.1L Naturally Aspriated V8 which produces an impressive 509hp. The Vector's clever AWD system will thrust the car to 60mph in just 4.1 seconds, and on to a top speed limited to 180mph. If the limiter is removed the car will push past 200mph!

The Vector also boasts a lush leather interior, essential to any luxury car, with every car-friendly gadget under the sun to make your life easier on any journey.

Don't think this car will spontaneously combust if you hit a tree, either. The car has many safety features including 8 airbags including the back seats, and also a clever Isofix seatbelt system for the back seats as well.

Also, because this car is a sedan, it has a big boot for your posh dog, or your golf bats, if you like that sort of thing.

So, a great car then, regardless of the situation. This car will never let you down, or embarrass you. Anywhere you go.

Re: Cottam Auto Group

Cottam Auto Group has had some recognition following the success of the new Vector. CAG had provided a Cottam Vector to the Isle of Man Police Department fir some tests too see if it had the credentials to become part of its newest fleet of high speed interceptors.

Following vigorous testing, the IOMPD decided it was a great fit, and so CAG sent the model to German company Ryota's emergency vehicles branch, REV.

The Vector has been given a complete facelift by Ryota Emergency Vehicles, and it is now fit for the force; with a new, less powerful, but more torquey 410hp engine that also features in the new Ryota Interceptor. The Vectorhas also been fitted with REV's innovative lighting system dubbed RELCS - Ryota Emergency Light Control System.

It also features REV's Vector bullbars. (They match the name! :P)

Yeah, my Vector may not look like that one, but it has a chance of outrunning it :P.

Re: Cottam Auto Group

It seems Cottam Auto Group has been rewarded with its efforts on the new Vector. The Cottam Vector has been given a 5-star rating, and a 'Best Buy' award from Spain-based British reviewer Cheeseman. His words say everything we could have put into a marketing campaign, but evidently, the car has spoken for itself, and Cheeseman has spoken for the public.

This is a grand moment for all of CAG, and long may the Vector continue its reign of luxury-sport supremacy!

Go and read the Vector's sparkling review here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4044&start=40#p35698

A big thank you to Cheeseman for his kind words! There really isn't much else to say about the car. If it's as good as Cheeseman says it is, then surely that will be enough persuasion to give the Vector a try.
