Engine cost suggestion

I personally would like to see a ticker somewhere, maybe in a corner, that lists my current cost I have spent while building an engine. IMO I find it cumbersome to have to test the engine any time I want to see if I have made a cost reduction. It's not a huge deal, but I think it would help.

Sorry if this has been suggested before, I did not do a search.

Great game BTW!!!!

Re: Engine cost suggestion

If you did do a search, you could have seen that its been discussed before.

The interface is already pretty busy, so there is not a real spot to put this in a logical place.
When you change something on the engine, more than only costs change, so you might want to check out the increasing or dropping horsepower/torque/MTBF/emissions or other stats.
No need for 'another' box in the screen.

Re: Engine cost suggestion

Although, it would be interesting to have the facility to get a cost breakdown reports stating where the cost of an engine is located.
e.g.
Engine Name: A20IN
Block: £150.00
Crank: £45.00
Pistons: £25.00
etc

I'm assuming the Tycoon side of the game will have a selection of reports.

Re: Engine cost suggestion

The cost is already there. When you click something, right above it is a menu showing you what the cost are, with pistons and crankshafts and such also tell you if they are suitable for high medium or low RPMs or how much torque they can handle etc. So it is already there, really. In the end it is about the total production cost that matters, and per part you have to make choices. The more you play, the easier it becomes to understand which part does what, at what expense.

Here a picture to go with it. Look at the Material cost. It represents an Inline 4 cast Iron crankshaft:

Re: Engine cost suggestion

That is true, but you have to click on each item on each page to see which bit costs what, it's not all in a single nice easy to read list.
