Re: general question

But if you have an unlimited budget, it's hard to beat an Alienware.
Other than them, Asus and Sager make great gaming machines, and are what I would recommend to most people. So does Dell, performance wise, but I've never had luck with the longevity of their computers. I've seen Razer is making some pretty sweet machines, but their price is way up there, and I don't know how well they are built.

Re: general question

MSI Gaming, Schenker and ASUS ROG are really good gaming laptops.

If I were looking for a new full-size laptop though, (which I probably never will again) then Asus would be the first place I looked.

Yup. I had about $1600 into my last M11x R3. I built a muuuuuch faster desktop for about $800. If ASUS made a powerful 11" laptop I'd be very excited. Razer makes a gaming tablet now... but with the accessories I'd need for everyday use it's way out of my price range at this time, lol.
My next laptop will probably be a Haswell equipped tablet PC. Should be powerful enough to run Automation without too much fuss, and still give me the battery life I need while in college.
