The Mirai Coupe is the second concept car in the Mirai Design family. Mirai, which is Japanese for future, represents the next possible evolution in Oakland's design language. Although the Mirai Crossover and Coupe are just design studies at the moment, there is still a possibility of the vehicles being put into production depending on the public's reception.
Mirai Coupe is RWD and powered by a turbocharged Inline 6 that produces 350HP

^ This really has a radical 90's concept car feel to me. It wasn't really intentional, though. lol
In the early 1990's, Oakland Motor Company set out to create an all new midsize car to better compete with class leaders like Camry and Accord. Their answer was the Entourage. Unfortunately, sales were not as good as expected, partially due to the RWD drivetrain. A new FF sedan platform was created, and in 1996, the Acer was introduced as a proper competitor to Camry and Accord.
Acer was initially powered by either a 2.3L I4 making 150hp or a 2.5L I4 making 200hp. A 220hp V6 was added in the 1998 model year. Unlike, the performance oriented Entourage, the Acer focuses on comfort and drive-ability. High build quality, solid but comfortable driving dynamics and exceptional value made Acer quickly become one of the segments best sellers.
