The 10 1/2 minute car challenge

As I get very bored easily, I decided to start up a themed challenge myself; The 10 1/2 Minute Car Challenge.
You must-
Build an engine and car from scratch in under 10 1/2 minutes, NOT including menu switching. You start timer once you select v8, i6, etc and stop the timer when you feel the engine is acceptable. Then resume timer once you select your car model/color.

The requirements-
Engine MUST reach 300 HP
Engine MUST have at least 45,000 miles/72,000 KM between failures
Engine MUST be under $1000 manf. cost and under 100 man hours

Car designer must have headlights, tail lights, door handle and grille. Everything else is optional.
Car must be no uglier than the average concept that has no chance of production.

Here is my acceptance of such challenge.

Re: The 10 1/2 minute car challenge

:) This is quite a bit like car design multiplayer will work. Getting stat requirements for a car to produce and compete with, a set amount of time, and all the pressure to perform!

Being good at this stuff probably means you'll need less than 5min for a full car.

I was hoping this is how multiplayer would work. This is the offline version I guess
I went in having no plan at all other than I wanted to do a V8 coupe. The requirements are literally just what my engine was able to pull off. I hope that isn't cheating. 8-)
