Desmodromic valve system

First I've heard about this system was at school. Then I looked it up and it looks just awesome and the engines we'll build could be a much more "revy". Is there a possibility to have this system and to add a couple of thousands to the rev meter? :) I would really like to se it in the game. :)

Re: Desmodromic valve system

Nah, he's not stalking you, but the forum as a whole.

We won't add any other head types, and really can not and will not change the hard-coded rev limiter.
Reason: Can you name a single stock/production car that has a redline beyond 12k?

Re: Desmodromic valve system

Some motorcycles have redline beyond 12k, but no cars

Re: Desmodromic valve system

And it would be also good if you implement the motorsports. we could even do F1 cars and engines. :)

Re: Desmodromic valve system

:) would be awesome, yes. Won't happen for vanilla Automation though, for reasons discussed plenty of times.

Re: Desmodromic valve system

The advantage of the desmodronic valves is the no-existence of valve floating.

Re: Desmodromic valve system

Disadvantage: a VERY expensive engine. With many more precision ground parts.

Probably also much more engine noise.

Re: Desmodromic valve system

Have you asked yourself the question "has it been used in enough production CARS to warrant the effort?" before writing that?

Re: Desmodromic valve system

most cars use hydro or mechanical valves btw

please stop dreaming about stuff that wouldn't have a real use on the road, as much as i would love to see tons of cool sh**, they still don't have a massive team

btw Killrob, you should make a pinned thread about stuff that people won't see, like desmo valves, some odd cycle engine and so on
