Re: Maximum power (3200hp+)

I would guess a good RPM limit would not be at the point of failure...but at like 7400rpm I will make the change in the video dont worry

Re: Maximum power (3200hp+)

Here is the video on that 3700bhp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WxJwoqiwk8

(I had to swap graphics cards oddly with my 512MB graphics card I was getting well over 30FPS while with my 1GB graphics card I was getting barely 30FPS...so sticking with my 512MB baby Graphics card :) )

I think you can go and set the redline to 8800, which might give you some time between total disintegration. This type of power is funnycar territory and they rebuilt their engine each race.

The point of failure on your 3674hp engine is 7200rpm but you set the redline at 8300rpm. setting the redline to 7100rpm on that engine gives you an MTBF of 200km and an output of 3633hp/3704nm which is lower than the 3640hp maximum i seem to be getting.

I don't think 0 MTFB should be used when trying to go for maximum power, as all that means is the engine passes on the dnyo (some how) and fails the next time you start it up. Even for a funny car that's unacceptable. You need 1km minimum I would guess, which is why i said it in the opening post - what's your maximum without destroying the engine. 0 MTBF is a fail regardless if passes the dnyo or not.

using 0 MTFB you can achieve 3700+ quite easily. See attached (it's called 3708hp but it is 3714hp)

Note, that engine also fails at anything over 3640hp. if you set the timing to 73 and the boost to 31.9psi, you just manage 3640hp with 320156mm MTBF or 1/3 of a KM. It's that torque again, 3700nm is the limit.

James do you want a 720p or a 1080p video review?

Re: Maximum power (3200hp+)

Can confim the 3700nm torque wall...

Tryed 2 engines
----------------
10857cc DOHC DI Turbo 40V V8 Crossplane
3639.7hp@7200rpm / 3690.6nm@6500rpm / 7km / RON 99.4
----------------
10857cc DOHC DI Turbo 32V V8 Flatplane
3639hp@7200rpm / 3693nm@6600rpm / 21km / RON 98.9

Any change and i hit 3700nm+ and MTBF goes to 0.

But on the other hand, i have my Troll build!
5734hp@7500rpm / 5762nm@6600rpm / RON 71.9
And yes, it revs all the way to 12.000RPM!
Proof you say? have a look > Trolol
Ask and thou shall get an answer, maybe...

Ye, open up any engine save you want with a text editer of your choise.
The you go to "Table 32" or "line 580" and write a stupid high number on the 5 catogories.

Only down side is, you CANNOT GO OUT OF TEST MODE or you will have to reload the engine.
Ask and thou shall get an answer, maybe...

highest what i can get before the engine explodes  or MTBF goes 0 is

3639hp @ 7300rpm
3665nm@ 6600rpm
mtbf 36km

with 0 mtbf the engine goes up to

3703hp @ 7300rpm
3743nm@ 6600rpm

Not bad, but we are more interested in Engines with 3641hp+ without MTBF going to 0 ;)
(and thats also without messing with the Quality  )
