Nope, they've never been put on a road car by a manufacturer and aren't really practical to do so.

depends on the car, type of engine and amount of nitro and fuel injected.

i see you have a 2.0 tdi. i met someone that wanted to SUPERCHARGE his TDI, despite my advice not to do that. he said he saw on fifth gear that they put nos on an 1.6 SDI and the power went crazy. i told him the engine can't handle that much torque. 2 weeks later i was proven right (snapped conrod). although i didn't see the effect, i would have paid to watch the results

It is also illegal in many countries due to it being highly explosive, and will not help during a car fire.

N2O is not explosive. you cannot ignite it. but inside the engine where it's hot the gas breaks down into a 1/3 ratio high density air.
but it is illegal in many countries because of recreational abuse (giggle gas).some people inhale too much and asphyxia can occur. the same thing can happen with helium.
