whats the FPS you get...I just make 30fps on Euro Truck Simulator 2 on High Graphics...my dream system quoted below would get well over 200 to 250FPS on ETS2 on Ultra...for minecraft current system tops out at about 140fps on that one below...oh I dont know 500fps+ xD I want it so bad but I will wait a while for it gotta work for it you know xD

HDD: Western Digital 3TB Red x2 so 6TB total
HDD: Seagate 500GB x2 (from Juno8 so actual total will be 7.25TB but 1TB will be off Sata II and the other 6.25TB will be uber fast Sata III)
Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper (its big it may be so big that I have to relocate it to my desk...I want this thing to run hard muhaha)
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit

This computer may set me back well over £2000 but it will utterly destroy anything I put it up against...when I get the darn thing built!

Depens which games you want to know the FPS for, i don't play ET2 sim. I can give you a 3dmark score though:

Plus, why the idiot large RAM size-capable board? Are you actually going to use it?
What i'm saying is; If you're going to just game and don't do excessive computing work (3d modeling, video editing (the real work, not the GoPro editing stuff), that kind of stuff) 16gb is more then enough, hell maybe even overkill.
Save the money on better parts/cooling.

To give you an idea; Chrome running with 10 tabs, Active Battlefield 3 game session (minimized), PS CS6 running, local MYSQL database running (game server), i barely hit 8Gb MEM usage. Only when i stuff PS with 200+ photo's of 18MP i'll hit the 14-15GB usage.

It's hard to say. The only thing you can do is guesstimate and compare benchmarks with a similar setup.

Yes; But by a margin, but only if you're going to overclock the living breathing $^!# out of it.
No; if you leave it stock or at factory clocks without tweaking or doing stuff yourself, maybe per CPU clock you might be faster, but that's only for programs that utilize all the cores.

My 7950 overclock surpasses (slight) overclocked 7970's. Which in turn are (marginally) better then the 680 GTX, but cheaper to buy.
The i7's produce a lot of heat, even more so for the X series. Without decent cooling you'll won't get much overclocking out of it. I have delidded mine (removed the heatspreader) and used liquid metal paste to keep it under 60°C while under load (with the GPU in the same loop). I'm running temperatures lower then aircooled 3770k's at around 4.2-4.3 gHz.

So question number one: Are you going to overclock it? And how much.
And question number two: Is the system purely setup for gaming, no ground braking rendering or that kind of stuff?

If Q #1 is a yes, and #2 is a gaming rig: Drop the I7-X and get a I7-K, cheaper, same performance for what you're going for.
If Q #1 is a no, and #2 is a gaming rig: No need for a K or X cpu. A regular I7 will do just fine.
If Q #1 is yes, and #2 is a combination, get the I7-K. The hyperthreading is fast enough and the 2 extra cores wont give you much benefit if the software won't utilize is (and there's a lot that doesn't do that!).

If you just want to blow all your cash.. go do whatever you like and buy the most expensive and ludacris hardware.

Hahahaha nice. If you can get a I7-K for a bargain (compared to a non-k) get it though. With decent aircooling you can get a little bit if push out of it if you decide to do a small overclock.

I mean if I got parts from getting it off my dads company so like Processor, Graphics and the 2x WD disks its like £1,523.88 so about a £200 saving for me...I will have to see though

go compare a 680 GTX vs. a 7970 (or if you're lazy: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/350099-15-7970) Non overclock the 680 will be fine. If you even touch it a little, and the fuckers can go a loooong way, even on air, get the 7970. Plus with added (FS)AA and options, 3GB of VRAM is nice on the higher resolutions.
I used amazon for a price comparison: 2GB 680 GTX ~393 Pounds vs HD 7970 factory overclocked ~310 pounds

The corsair force SSD's are good, though the Samsung's are being top of the list now though. Price difference i wouldn't know.

Why a 2011 socket? I quote:

1155 will probably last longer as it is intended for wider use than 2011. 2011 has only two CPUs i7 and Xeon and is intended for workstations. LGA 2011 will cost you a lot more than a 1155 (I myself paid £1000 last year for an ASUS P9X79, an i7 and 8GB Quad Channel RAM). If its for gaming then go for 1155 i7.

The rest is fairly basic components on which you can't go wrong.

With the mummified current console generation holding back graphics evolution on the PC, a 600€ PC can play 95% of all games on full settings. Are you doing some crazy video editing/rendering or is it just to grow the e-peen?

Both. It's fun to play something with 16xAA and 4X FX/MS/SSAA and still having +100 FPS, then worrying if you can play the game decently..

I do a lot of photo/video work in the summer (GoPro video editing > Driving out with friends on the bike) and i'm a (club)photographer, so i have to do a lot of batch processing and editing again.
Plus, maxing out all the settings to the highest setting is just fun. I can run Automation full on it's ass and it's still fine
