air to air intercoolers are pretty much comon
what about air to water intercoolers?

Nope, they're all blow through, for ease of piping/artwork.

I just thought of yet another question, elaborating on my earlier one I suppose, will top mount intercoolers be available as an option or is it just side/front mount systems?
Also while on the subject of turbos and intercoolers will you have to put vents/scoops/gaping mouths in bumpers to disperse heat/feed intercoolers or is that just way too complicated? I'm assuming it would be.

That side of things will be covered in the car designer, you choose the size and such in the engine designer, then work out where the bastard fits once you put it in the car. I'd say it'll at least have to have some grill area to feed it air, that's not too complex to simulate.
