Valve float

Hey,

I was wondering if there were any other solutions to valve float except lowering the redline.
Anyone has a clue?

Re: Valve float

The only things i have found are reducing the bore or increase the number of valves.
Both reduces the valve size -> reduces the valve mass -> lets the valves move faster. :)

Re: Valve float

Smaller bore will give you smaller valves that will be lighter and less likely to float.

More valves (5 valve for example) will also give you smaller & lighter valves.

Make sure you're using DOHC or Direct Acting OHC, as these are the most resistant to float.

Re: Valve float

We are assuming that those things are set to the best possible values when you choose the cam, so no, you can't set it yourself.
