Re: speaker system in cars!

we should totally also be able to possess people working in the factories and do their job for a while

and you should totally get Logitech to make USB tools like torque wrenches and bore scopes for the authentic feel

then if you're in the 70's based in the UK you should be able to go on strike for weeks at a time and then when you do go back to work, leave your lunch in the doors of the cars you work on

and watch the development time shoot into 2050 and poor ol Daffy looses his mind!

Re: speaker system in cars!

I think you guys need to begin looking for funds for "Automation: The movie".

James Cameron and Steven Spielberg should direct and Ridley Scott should be the producer.
Lead role: Nicholas Cage and Cameron Diaz as factory workers, Morgan Freeman as the company CEO and Penelope Cruz as the hot babe that buys a sports car.

Orchestral sound track by the London Philharmonics of course.

Re: speaker system in cars!

you guys ever heard of street legal racing?

not only does it have interior and test driving and then one hundred and one other things it is basically the older version of this game this is doing the same thing ONLY with a more changeable design system this is nothing new

Re: speaker system in cars!

I don't think you actually understand what goes into a good quality driving simulator (which SLRR frankly isn't), we're talking years of labor, probably an entire person just dedicated to replicating tyre physics correctly etc. Automation is already a huge project for a 3 man team and the addition of a driving component (done properly) would probably add 4 years+ to the development time. It's not going to happen I'm afraid.

We are looking at doing an exporter for rFactor one day though.

an exporter to Rfactor will take you years! don't you know what you have to do? you have to correctly and I lay stress on this CORRECTLY match Rfactors physics and tuning then you have to make your car into a skin component that rfactor can read then make a framework base that rfactor can read oh and then you have to make the engine sounds transfer to rfactor in the end it is going to quick to design a quick physics system and track in automation ther eis more working in transferring then making your own!

Re: speaker system in cars!

There really is no such thing as "Design a quick physics system" that is any good. Hence why we're not going to do it. We're going to experiment with rFactor but if that turns out to be too hard we won't do it, so far it looks like it might be doable, but that's really just something to look into, nothing more.

Trust me, we've been considering this for years and know that doing a race sim/driving sim component to the quality we expect is NOT possible for us. I don't know what you're trying to convince us of here.

you really don't get my point but anyway when I say quick physics system I mean make a small system that works to test functions of the car not a whole driving simulator the speaker system is a part of the interior that works you make the car and works while the car goes around a test track that the player does not control it would a animation not a full blown simulator that would make the quality control bit more realistic and I thought it would be funny if you heard the music as it got louder and soft as the car screamed by the camera

Re: speaker system in cars!

Oh, yes there may indeed be a test track sequence that you observe, that's not too hard as you can fake most of the physics.
