Stats

Hey i was just wondering what is considered good or average, in terms of each of these stats; Economy, Emissions, Loudness, Smoothness, and Responsiveness. I have an Engine with an Economy of 0.287, an Emission of 0.057, a loudness of 32.5, a smoothness of 61, and a Responsiveness of 56.4. Are any of these Stats good? And what is considered average for each or any of them?

Re: Stats

Can't say too much about that yet, but there are some features coming when the engine designer revamp is done: You will get additional feedback on some of the values that can't be measured in a sensible way (like responsiveness and smoothness). I believe it was said that there will be some kind of comment like "ultra smooth" or "very responsive", to get a feeling for what you've built. For economy, there will be a fuel consumtion estimation (liters/100 km and other units), so you will be able to judge that as well.

Re: Stats

Ahh ok, because i didnt know if they were really measurable as is until you would put it in a car or not. Do you know when they are going to release the engine revamp?

Re: Stats

Yeah, that fuel economy thing is a bit difficult, actually a standing engine does not have a gas milage, but it's an estimation, which of course will be influenced later in the car designer by aerodynamics, gearbox, ...
The revamp is scheduled for late september right now, but things can always get delayed. Better to polish the engine designer now than later, when you would have to redo and balance more and more stuff. :)

Re: Stats

Yes, it should be in the september revamp.

Also many thanks Der Bayer, you're quite honestly answering questions better than I could, keep it up :D

Re: Stats

Hello there, I was thinking about the Economy of TanTan95 engine. The engine has a Economy 0f 0.287(liters/100km) that's means that you can drive 0.387 liter/100 km = 258.397932817 kilometer/liter

260 km / L is seems a bit too much.

Or do you calculate it differently? because my thirstly engine has a Economy of 1.143. And with that engine you can drive 87.489063867 kilometer/liter.

Re: Stats

It's the unit for a standing engine - either g/(kW*h), or lb/(hp*h), the fuel consumption measured in that way is inversely proportional to engine's efficiency.

Re: Stats

Though TanTan95 didn't say anything about the units he is working with, I suppose he is using lb/HPh. That's why he gets those small numbers. The liters/100km estimation is in closed beta stage right now, so no chance he gets liters/100km. :)

Might want to check what unit that actually is, its not going to be Lt/100km, as that can't be calculated without it in a car, its going to be Grams/Kw-hr. Or Lb/HP-hr, both measures of fuel consumed per unit of power produced over time.

Re: Stats

Thanks for the explanation

Oke, the fuel consumed per unit of power produced over time. yeah right the consumption calculated on the amount of force. sorry for late reply

Re: Stats

For me it is not clear whether the engine consumes much. And if you compare with other engines, but you can therefore calculate per kWh?
