One thing I like in Detroit are the news about inovations of another manufactures, newspaper, radio or television for example, talking about a new kind of suspension that one company has created, or another type of car never seen.

Someone remember this?

Super sporty, fast, fuel efficient, and light cars, but UGLY and van-looking :)

If I were replicating a company a Toyota/Honda/Nissan mix, Toydasan!

I plan to name my model range based on SI Prefixes, the Smallest car would be a Pico, the largest a Terra or Peta :P

Re: What car maker are you going to base your company on?

I think I will be basing my company around the concept of 'we must build the very finest ;) road cars in order to fund our motorsport domination of the worlds premier championships'.

Not remotely based on my own ideal career path,

No, not one bit...

I don't think that i'll be basing it of a special brand, but make my own with some inspiration. And not focus on any special type of cars, just making what i feel like. And if rotary enginges come to the game i will make a brand that makes everyday cars from suv to compacts and using only rotarys.

I have to go with Ford.

My father worked there, so basically my whole childhood was Ford dominated

Maybe something between General Motors (Chevrolet mainly) and Volkswagen, especially until the 70s. I'll try to focus on the Brazilian market first, then I will think in other markets.

Re: What car maker are you going to base your company on?

I will not try and copy any car manufacturers, but instead do my own thing. At first. Then when I get bored, I'll start basing my cars on my favorite cars of all time.

Re: What car maker are you going to base your company on?

Mine will be similar to Honda but a bit more upmarket (Acura?); reliable engines, not necessarily high on torque, but have quite a lot of power for their size and are fuel efficient.

Seishido cars are not based on one specific brand, they are special  . The design is completely original, the engines and drivetrain are Japanese style, low displacement and with high hp/l and economy, but mine are a little expensive because i use advanced technology, It's just your average awesome brand :D

Re: What car maker are you going to base your company on?

Not so much a car brand as car models, I have favorite cars or engines from each decade that I'm going to try and emulate, or at least pay homage to. My challenge will be in stringing all those different cars together to form a good cohesive company image.
