Developing 447hp and 329lb-ft of torque this racing machine can do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 190mph. Cornering is dealt with using 265 sport compound tires front and back developing 1.11g at low speed and 1.09g at high speed. Only 3 pit stops are planned for the opening endurance race at hockenheim and the car is still able to manage times of 2:22.63 from a standing start.

I am jealous of the sirius sattelite radio it looks like your car has (the shark fin on top).

It was supposed to be a stability fin to improve aerodynamics as there is no radio in the car. I wouldve put more on it to make it look more like an aerodynamic feature and not an antenna but the only fixture that did that was a bonnet one so its forced to being centered.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

anyone else noticing that the bigger an engine gets, the harder it is to get higher hp/liter ratio?

so i think there must be a point of diminishing returns. and the 2 sweet spots that i've found is really around 4400~4700cc or somewhere on the higher side, 7300~7800cc

Yeah I noticed that when looking at a second car, but I wasn't sure of a cc target.

how are you guys getting your cars to meet minimum weight? I keep ending up way under :(

Only cause you can't rev a bigger engine as high. I managed 125hp/L

Hopefully one of my two entries will fare well. The temptation of going a novelty route was too much so I submitted a station wagon. Too bad we don't have wood panels.

A poll where each car can be rated from 1 to 5.

Yes, 2 cars. Entries will close on Monday evening, but there will be some time left to fix any cars which would have to be disqualified and to adjust your strategy. But endurance strategy is not that difficult anyway.

Oh, I just looked at the deadline. I have to travel several times between home and interstate on consecutive days over the Easter break (thanks to my strange shift schedule and that I'm not allowed to swap them out because the admin in charge of my rostering is new and doesn't know what they're doing :( So I definitely won't have time to put in a new entry for this one.

Can someone confirm that sport tires have less wear than slicks?

Depends on whether your engine is big or small (at least if you end up just over the minimum weight limit, like I did). In my small car (2.4L V8), I was actually about 100 kg over the limit when I first tested it, so I just lowered interior quality until I was right over the limit. In my large car (10L V12), I was way under the limit, so I ended up using a premium interior/stereo, and max safety (at about -2/3 quality) to comply with rules and reg.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

honestly, the price per kg for the radios is NOT worth it at all, just pile on more safety quality and if you automatically set body panel quality too -15, boost that up some, its cheap, adds weight, and increases reliability.

Since we get to enter 2 cars I am currently trying to get any of the other bodies to reach anything close to my original car. At least I can basically set all the stats for front engined cars the same as the current car and they immediately go to 2:20's. Just have to tune them from there.
