Assuming you're refilling the entire tank, fuel is probably the limiting factor for time in box - rules image said 3 kg/s refill. As for pit entry/exit, my 1966 estimate was 15 seconds.

My cars work as intended.

1 fast car which does allright.

1 very slow car that will only need a handful of stops. Less then 3% tire-wear at the end.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

Congrats everyone, that was quite fun to watch.

... 37.72kg a lap... ... Hnnnggg...

Yeah AirJordan you may have me beat for the top laptime, I doubt I'll get it quicker by fixing this.
Holy crap, that means ever 2 laps, I'd need to sit in the pits for 24 seconds just to put the fuel back in!
So really, you can say it is actually probably the slowest car on the track, even though it looks like one of the fastest.

Really happy with my NA car however, low fuel use, respectable time. Need to reduce the rear tyre wear though...

I wouldn't mind seeing the top speeds we reached, I fell like I at least wasn't getting as high as I expected.

I think the ones to watch are BobWiley, Leo, Mattmr2 and Marcus.

HOLY CRAP, GenJeft. That tyre wear. That's less than my 2 lap wonder used. Wow.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

Hey guys first time, I've built A car I'm fairly happy with, but I have a couple of questions,
Is there a drafting mechanic?
and could someone explain race strategy within the BRC Submisson Tool to me?

Thanks in advance and can't wait to compete!

Yes, there is drafting.

Have you read the readme.txt coming with the tool? Please do so and then ask specific questions when something remains unclear.

And with that, I may finally have a car competing for top 10! :)

How do we find our tank size? I see it says 10*footprint, but what exactly is the footprint

there is a post on how to calc it

here: viewtopic.php?p=93516#p93516

And THANK YOU; your post let me see my error in my math. I did fotprint x7 not x10. It's really only 8 pit stops I need.

Also how are people estimating tire ware?

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

According to my calculation, I can hold 22.676 gallons (103 liters). If that is true, as I get 12.9 miles per gallon (18.1L/100km), I would get 292.5 miles per tank (470.73).
Does this all seem correct?

Also how long is the track? I'm trying to see how many laps a full tank would last on average.

On the first page, Der Bayer added a .csv file that will show you your fuel consumption per lap. the race will be around 5.5 - 6 hours long from what I have heard so you can figure out your fuel needs based on your average lap time and fuel used per lap. I will be making between 12 and 14 pits for example.
