So is this a new set of boxes in the BRC Tool going forward or will everyone have the same parameters for the use of intermediates for qualifying? And when will these changes take effect for the purposes of revising pit strategies?

There will be no new boxes, the simulation will take care of it automatically from next race (qualifying) on already.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

How will B.R.O.B.O.T. determine if I need intermediate tires? I don't usually alter the intermediate thresholds in the BRC Tool if I'm not using intermediates so (personally) they might not be set properly.

Perhaps it might just allocate the fastest tyres for the given conditions?

That's hard to say, there are some very fast cars, but I'd say it's definitely possible and depending on the track it could start quite high up. But in the races, well, check out Koolkei from last race, even a win would be on the cards. It looks very light, so on a the slower tracks it should be really quick.

Im getting a 2:20.00-50 and I haven't got close to the top 10 in qually yet

Mine was 2:21.50ish, and has. BRC's calculations aren't entirely identical to in-game.

Edit 2016-03-17: More like 2:21.10 - I forgot that I increased the camber significantly.

In which I go through two pretty competitive approaches to building a BRC 1966 car. The Top-Speed solution and the Lightweight solution. :)

Great video, learned a lot! Just shame it came out after first race... On the other hand I have even less clue now why is my car performing so bad. I hope reviewers who are vastly more experienced than I am will cover that.

You guys realize that the timing on this very much is on purpose? Doing this kind of video before the deadline would mean that many cars in the competition are very much the same and would make the competition boring because of it. The aim here is to show you what options you have and how to tune in general, so that for the next BRC you can up up a good fight with your OWN solution. :)

Also, you say your car performs poorly. What time does it get on the Automation Test Track? If it is in the 2:21 region then it is just a case of "Silverstone is not for you." :P

You do realize that it's really appealing to blame someone else for your own mistakes ;)
But yeah..you are right, I would most certainly build a tuned version of displayed MR car and surely wouldn't be alone.

I actually did... and then limited it's top speed via gearing to get some acceleration from it.

Then update your strategy. It will use the tyres you choose in the tool.

Probably around top 15-20 and then +- 10-15 spots depending on tires and pit strategy as well as suitability for that track (and no blown engine ofc ;) )

Really just agreeing with Killrob here, my car does the automation track in 2.20.38 and qualified 2nd on silverton, then 12th on snetterton. My rough guesstimate is that the field is so even the layout of the track decides top 15-20 in qualifying, and both tracks so far are less twisty than ATT

This is damn accurate :)

I'm also doing poorly on ATT 2.22.9 and the problem is that I can not locate what is holding me back by let's say at least second, which is acceptable for lightweight. I get that Silverstone is fast that's why I dropped 20 places since pre-seasone ATT race and I hope I can get back to middle field (if I do not die again) but what I relly want is to understand dynamics (and it's flaws) of my car :)
