Qualified 48th but finished 9th? HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will definitely be using this prototype in the actual season. Now I need to find a little more time in the dry and rethink my pit strategy. If I've read the thread correctly, there will be more consumption in the dry because there will be quicker lap times. I had a fair amount of KG of fuel left over at the end of the race, but I had 0 planned stops, so I'm pretty sure I took no fuel on. I don't think I can get away with that in dry conditions. Also the intermediate tires make a huge difference in lap times, although the way the weather went really helped my wet only strategy (except for qualifying, it killed me there) and it seems that plenty of folks got hurt by the dip to 30% humidity range before it poured again. Decisions Decisions.

I don't want my car running with 55 damage the whole race, I only made sure an extra pit stop wasn't going to be needed. Like in f1 when there is minimal front wing damage, the car isn't pitted immediately, but they still get it changed on the next stop. Is there a way to amend this?
Small damage should still be fixed during regular stops. Maybe not completely, but they should work on the car until tyres are changed and refuelling is finished. Where and when and for whom did that not work? I think this is working.
I thought I had noticed it happening with both my and your car, but I rewatched the race a bit more carefully and indeed most of the damage was gone. Sorry

Hmm, I think no really. My strategy has definitely been pace first. Then trying to deal with fuel, tyre wear, drivability and reliability as afterthoughts almost. But, having said that, it might end up costing me more than I gain. My feeling is you want to be as high in qualifying as you can get, so, for me definitely pace first.

Yeah, that.. please... remove it... if it is not the engine, is the weather... if is not the weather, is the engine...

I've gone for fairly high driveability, not overly so, and just by being consistent and having 2 minor mistakes went from #45 on the starting grid to scratching the top 10. Could be better if the engine didn't decide it did not want to live on this planet anymore. I'd say driveability counts for a lot, look at the amount of crashes and driver errors to capitalize on that happened in the race.

Preseason testing is done as far as I could figure (correct me if im wrong people). We're locked into the championship with the cars we now revise till 29th and that's it.

You were lucky.
If Der Bayer's formulae haven't still changed (and I don't know if they have), then having sportiness exceed drivability may limit your average maximum cornering speeds. That's one thing that's preventing me from really pursuing the 2:19 times (2:20s is probably enough given the race is won at the end, not the start).
