Ha, clearly I need to be more ambitious. I don't think I've found a way to get 2:20 without cranking up the negative camber, if even that.

Yeah, I'm with you strop. I think my second prototype is in the 2:21.xx range, but I'm going the complete other way with strategy with this design and suspension tune.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

People actually have safety and 2:20 range..... back to the ol' drawing board (more weight, more power)
At least my V12 seems fairly efficient, 1 pit stop for all but the worst races (.7 r value and higher)

It just sorta dawned on me. The BRC brobot has flying lap times, as in, we start at speed, while automation laptimes are calculated from a standing start...

Yep, S2 and S3 times are what you want to improve for "real life" gains.

*sigh* I need to run my car through it's paces again

Edit, just did. It's much better than I though.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

Gnnnh ... I gotta do it. Thinking it over, there's just too much time to be had on more aggressive tyre camber and not enough time to be lost to tyre wear, especially with pit stops this fast. Downgraded the safety equipment too for extra aero-quality funds.

For the pre-season test I'll be doing an experimental strategy where I only stop for fuel, but I expect tyre wear will be significant enough to justify taking tyres, too. If tyre wear is extreme enough I'll do two stops, but hopefully that won't be required.

Pre-Edit: I hope it's not being calculated yet, because I just sent in a new revision of my car.

The next test will be done tomorrow. I rebalanced tyrewear, too. Tyre wear should be a bit higher now.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

I forget - what's the relationship between tyre wear and grip? I seem to remember something like grip=(max grip)*(1-wear)^2 but I might be confabulating something.

Can anyone confirm safety rating relevance to crash chance? Not crash severeness but chance.

Packbat, that ist correct.

Safety having an influence on crash chance does not really make sense in my opion.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

Thanks for the quick response! That means tyre grip drops off more slowly as the race goes on, right? I want to be sure so I know how to judge the results of testing re: my tyre strategy.
