Awwwwwwwww dont do that! Just keep your car the same but run it under one of the default suspension setups (Normal, Sport, Race etc)! See if that changes for the better, there is still one test left before the main season :D

Its 30 secs a lap slower so year

Edited because I said something dumb.

Nah man, stick with it, I've got a lot to catch up too.
Send me your car file if you want and I'll see if there is anything I can see that might help :D

Dont let that get you down, on my car if I change my front spring rate by ONE click I loose 15 seconds when I test the car, it is amazing what one little click can do, please dont give up!

So in terms of naming for people who dont understand what goes where (like me)... well, what goes where?

Which one is the engines model or platforms and which one is cars platforms and cars trims.

From left to right.

"GenJeFT-Cars-Platforms", "GenJeFT-Cars-Trims", "GenJeFT-Engines-Platforms" and "GenJeFT-Engines-Models"

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

in My Documents/My Games/Automation you will find the folders Cars and Engines, in each you will find 2 folders named Platforms and Trims/Models, copy these files somewhere(desktop is easier) and rename each: Playername-Cars(or engines)-Platforms(or Models) depending on where have you found those files. You should copy and rename them one at a time so you wouldn't lose track of which is which. After that put all four of them in a ZIP (must be a ZIP) archive and send them to Der Bayer.

@Der Bayer: This saving and naming system is very confusing and frustrating. If it does this to a seasoned Automation Player, new guys will find it even more so.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

At first I also found the naming confusing......... but then I realised that given that the game now saves as four files, this is the only feasible way to actually get the files organised, otherwise it's way too tedious to work out which is which. It's just important to remember that while "username" should be your username, the designations: Engine/Model and Variant/Trim should be just that!

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

Question for Der Bayer and Strop, I try to keep my zip file the same as Automations folder structure so it is easier for you guys to import, does this really help you or is it a hindrance with more folders to deal with?

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

I don't know myself how things should be handled properly, especially because the cars don't show up in Automation anymore when files are renamed manually after building... I'll have to try out and we will see. If anyone has a good solution please let me know.
One solution would be that you send me a set of files with the original names and one with the renamed names. But this will be a lot of trouble.

Oh. Oh that's very odd. You're probably not going to be able to open mine, in that case. I'll have to go back and rename them in-game.

Maybe false alarm... gotta check things out, someone sent me the wrong platform and thus it didn't show up.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

Just tested it. The links between the lua files don't break if you rename the files manually. My simulation program needs the files named in a specific way. So I don't think there's a way around manually editing files because most people don't name the files properly when they build the car. The only problem I have now is that ingame the cars have a different name (the one you set in game for the platform and trim). So the platform name should be the player name, else I cannot find which cars is whose...

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [BUILD]

I am looking at the lua files right now. It appears that if you rename the files outside of the Automation game you will break the link and they wont load correctly which is a worry. I will investigate more later.

I renamed the files (added starting numbers) and everything loads fine.
