Can we get this engine into the game?

http://www.aksturgeon.com/2009/04/20/wa ... el-engine/

Specifically, the 14 cylinder version:

Total engine weight: 2300 tons (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.)
Length: 89 feet
Height: 44 feet
Bore: 38″ / Stroke: 98″
Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

That should make for some good track times, no?

That engine has a worse power to weight ratio than a car! Right around 42 lbs/hp. So, even if you just made a transmission and a chassis, minimum weight possible (with tires big enough to hold the power), it would not be that fast.

Is that engine a aircraft or tank engine? I find it hard to believe any company built a 2300 ton engine for a automobile!

Ship engine! Also I believe holds the record for the best fuel economy per HP of any piston engine.

I still wouldn't want to see the gas mileage of this thing in a car. Would make for a interesting conversation with a ricer though.

Ricer: What you got in that museum display?
Hot Rodder: Just a big 14 cylinder
Ricer: Bet my Vortec will smoke your boat anchor to the bottom
Hot Rodder: Want to race for pinks?
Ricer: Your on
Hot Rodder: You lost already unless you have a jet under your hood
Ricer: Not if you have a ancient 14 cylinder under your hood
Hot Rodder: Who said it couldn't haul ass?
Ricer: How many horses you got
Hot Rodder: About 109,000 HP at about 102 rpm
Ricer: About
Hot Rodder: Yup. The motor Shelled the Dyno just shy of that. It didn't calculate higher then that either:D
Ricer:
Hot Rodder: You should have asked me the displacement to, but I think its easy for you to understand 1 piston weighs more then your car
Ricer: "Mumbles to self" I knew I should have got a V8

So this can be called the Ricers worst nightmare then

Ehh, why would a ricer be using a Vortec engine? Those are GM truck V8s and I6s.

lol. Honda does have vortec heads. I just think they don't advertise it due to copyright, kind of like the hemi head. Several automakers now make hemi style heads, but only Mopar can use the term.

honda is not even close to a vortec, for 1 thing GM engines are pushrod or OHV engines.

Re: Can we get this engine into the game?

I always though Honda Vtech stood for vortech. I just looked it up and realized how wrong I was. I never really read up on rice cars to much. Half of my hateful sentiment with Hondas happened when I had to keep fixing my moms 01 Accord. They claimed to be one of the most reliable cars when she bought it , and I was always fixing it. Then my 97 Rivierra supercharged ran better at 230,000 then the Honda at 180,000. I didn't have to fix hardly anything on the Rivy except the trans that's known to have a sticky pressure valve. I then realized Honda reliability claims are only half true.

Re: Can we get this engine into the game?

i used to have a Honda.. and say whatever you want - the thing is as reliable as a car can possibly get, and repairs are easy
