Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

Just noticed this in 1356, was doing a dyno test and noticed the HP/TQ gauge says Km/h, I have my setting set for metric (blech :P ) so I can compare my cars with the BRC that Der Bayer ran recently so I do not know if this also affects the imperial gauges as well, will take a look later.

Is this a consistent thing happening, statman? Can you post a screenshot of what you mean with "zoomed out"?

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I've noticed a minor bug, when building a 1950's car, in the interior section, the safety options are referred to 40's and not 50's... in other decades appears correct...

Getting something similar with 1356, no errors or crash, just sometimes when I revise a model it never displays the stats, justs sits there with the spinning wheel.
I can't recreate this and know it will happen, seems random.
I can select other tabs and alter the settings but selecting the test tabs still results in the spinning wheel.
If I close the model and open another I get the same thing until I close the game completely. A new game is fine until some random time when it does it again.

Update 1357 working fine here...

Notice that if i change the diameter of the disc brakes, it doesn't change the braking distance...it changes from green to red, when reduced to minimum, but the braking distance remains the same...

Also, do you even torque, bro? Torque didn't really break this of course. :P

Lastly, while I can't show for it, the power/torque meter in the manual testing was reading in km/h for a bit, but I've lost the screenshot for it.

Erm, not sure that 100 was supposed to be the max, but if so... I've definitely destroyed that with Sportiness ratings in excess of 130 with my Time Attack cars.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

In B1357 it is saving platforms OK but it is not saving the models. The file that is saved is completely empty.

I vaguely remember someone else having this problem, but its gone 3am in the UK and trawling through this thread is not my idea of a good time right now :P

*edit*
Found out it was using a : in the file name that caused it to save badly, dropping everything after the : including the file extension. after renaming it looks to have saved just fine

Bigger brakes only help until you are tyre-limited, not brake limited. Bigger brakes than neccessary still reduce brake fade.

I believe it was 0 - 100 according to Killrob, but I can't seem to find that quote so I guess we can't be too sure until he or another dev can confirm.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

Values over 100 will be possible, but cars you build in the game will mostly be in the 0-100 range. 130 sportiness is indeed not that hard to get, but you won't be able to sell cars like that because they are shit :P

Yes, but it happens in some specific platforms. if i reduce the 300 mm to 160 mm disc brakes (huge difference), the braking distance remains the same. In other platforms, that change, affects the braking distance as it should.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

Depends on the weight of the car. And are you sure you didn't use 4 piston calipers and aggressive pads in one case (160 mm) and 1 piston calipers and tame pads in the other? If something really is strange, please upload the platform and model files.

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

I'm sorry, you're right. If i use 4 pistons and very aggressive pad types, using 160mm or 375 mm discs, the braking is the same. If i fit 2 pistons with the same aggressive pads, the distance braking changes if i reduce the size of the discs. It's like a "break even point", from a certain point, the size of the brakes don't affect the braking distance...

Re: Open Beta (B1352+) Bug Reporting Thread

As I said: You can only brake as hard as the tyres will allow you to.
