There are exceptions of course, e.g. Mk3 European Ford escort 3dr Hatch and Estate variants with only A, B & C pillars![]()

The Impreza is actually a sedan(or saloon). (Talking about the WRX rally-look-a-like. There is an Impreza stationcar, though.

The difference between a hatchback and a sedan(saloon), is that a hatchback actually has the back as a door or 'hatch', where the sedan(saloon) has an additional part of the car sticking out, but without the D roof support.
