Simulated City like in the "Old" Car Tycoon Game

I don't know if this was asked before or if I am the first to ask/give this idea.

Well most of you will know the Car Tycoon game from 2003. it had many bugs, but the game idea itself was great. The one thing I loved most about it was the ability to see the things happening in the simulated city.
So you have on the map the factory, car dealers... I don't care about many cities if we have one simulated like the one in Car Tycoon. With this point of view you can include everything in the city:

- Factories
- Car Dealerships
- Advertisement (firms)
- Competition
- Large firms (which want to buy large amounts of cars [all sorts])
- Stock market?
- Real Estate firms (Factories, Car Dealerships, Service Stations, Your firms HQ...)

This would sum up the great things you already created. (In the factory you choose the cars to be built, in the HQ you design your cars/motors, select the cars to be sold in the Car Dealer, Research office to stay up to date ;) ...)

So please thing about this because than we have everything you want in a TYCOON game. (Building, Creating, Selling, Managing, SEEING what happens --> and the market reacting LIVE)

This is just a dream of mine and I hope it get's reality someday or with THIS game.

I personally found that the city was a confusing and overly complex way of giving player feedback in Car Tycoon, I don't really see that it could be made to work particularly well. There certainly will be visible factory plots, production buildings etc. But creating a whole city is a massive art task for something that I don't even think we could get working nicely gameplay wise.

I have to fully agree with Andy on this: I tried Car Tycoon and found the simulated city aspect of it rather detrimental to the core game mechanics, and very confusing plus limiting too. So no, that is not something we plan on doing.

Ok I understand your point of view. So how exactly do you plan to let the player know how good the car sells and how the customers like it? Are there just gonna be numbers or will there be something more deep?

So for example you get a car on the market, promote it and let's say I sell it only in Europe. On what will the European market react to (functionality, price, "look", useability...) and how will the other regions react when they don't get to buy the car or only years later?
Will this be an aspect?

I believe Daffy once said it will be more like Detroit, where you open shops and factories in various parts of the world and sell on that part of the continent. But more in-depth material will be available for your shops and factories with 3D models, which you can upgrade with CNC shops or more space to hold cars in your shops for example.
