Too much torque for early year engines

I fear the new turbo update may have broken early year engines (pre-1955). I find it impossible to create an engine that doesn't exceed the torque limits without setting Compression, Fuel Mixture, and Ignition Timing to the bare minimum. I tried I4, I6, and V8s of different sizes. They're all in the same boat. I haven't found any other settings that work. Before the turbo update I was able to make an interesting variety of these early engines. Some other recent posts have mentioned that torque values are too high, so I guess this falls into that general line of thought.

Re: Too much torque for early year engines

I've noticed this too. I find it very difficult to get an i4 past 100 ft.lbs without it warning me the engine is breaking in 1946. I find it odd because if you look at even older cars like a 1925 Ford model A, the i4 will give you 128 ft. lbs at around 1000RPM and that was 21 years before the engine I was buidling.

Re: Too much torque for early year engines

Lots of thoughts, all channeled into appropriate changes. All the stats have been revamped to give more choices and more viable options.

1) Rebalancing of all conrods and pistons... some stats didn't make much sense or didn't leave much choice. I tried to make all choices more viable depending on application.
2) Addition of heavy duty cast pistons... very low revs, but high torque, needs no forge.

I'll do a video update on those changes I think, but they won't come for the current demo yet, probably along with the car designer demo. :)
Cheers!
