Re: The Oil Crisis of the 1970's - {CLOSED}
The 1973 Oil crisis caused the end of the American Muscle car as it was known. People were trading in 454 CID V8's for puny 1.4L Inline-4s.
In a new world of economy, a sports car would be very out of place. But, Rado designed one anyway.
It is powered by a Fuel Injected NA SOHC 3.0L V6 producing 135 hp and 155 ft-lbs of torque. The engine sits in the middle, behind the driver. It redlines at 5800, as any higher and the pistons and conrods start to get damaged.
Power is sent through a 5-speed open diff manual. It was actually faster than a good many V8 Muscle cars of it's time, getting to 62 in just 8.1 seconds, thanks to it's low weight.
Further, it got 25 miles to the gallon and you could technically use it everyday, although you probably shouldn't.
