Re: Kit car turbo racing 2015

I'm still betting it's very finnicky aero and having to balance out rear weight and downforce. I also note the long 60s coupe fits a gargantuan engine and 305s on the rear but is significantly heavier.

Many of these cars I test are perfectly fine without the turbo on. Add the turbo and suddenly the car's too rear-heavy, no matter how little torque you put into it. I'm happy to stay with the Red Rocket which does indeed use the 2.6m body (as long as it's approved, it seems to have a couple of problems).

My Hopeful entry to this contest, the Home Build 851 Sport Coupe. This cars name came about through it's front end. It reminded me of the Fiat 850 Sport Coupe, hence the name. It is "low" power car, compared to what I expect the powers.

It isn't that wild, but I hope it is competitive.

Edit: God my English is bad, and I'm a native speaker. Let me properly translate: It is A "low" power car, compared to the other car's powers

That's one of the bodies I had trouble configuring. Too large an engine and probably the load on the tyres is too much.

I'm guessing the Red Rocket is the 2.6m, but I originally thought it was the 2.05m which made me play around with it. The 2.05m (in my experience) fits a larger engine, but smaller tires (it fits 305s after you flare it all the way out) than the 2.6m.

As a heads up it also, again in my experience, doesn't play very well with two wings as I had repeated crashes doing nothing but selecting aero. Removing the second wing alleviated the issue. Replacing a second wing doesn't cause initial problems, but upon leaving the car and loading it back the issue reappeared, but not consistently like it had before. Its been fine after adjusting rear wing aero so its weird. It could just be on my end.

are you sure about the tyres? you still got a Version of such a car? even if i put a front engine in there, i am not Managing to get 305s on the back! when i realized how much more tyres the bigger one can fit and got it 1.5-2 secs faster than the smaller one without really finetuning it, i had to Switch cars... considering what strop says, maybe i should just go with the slower but cooler Version :)

Re: Kit car turbo racing 2015

Well I was sure of it until i went back and tried it again. I deleted the original car b/c of the instability of it (that and I usually like to keep my car list pretty low anything I like I'll take pics of, export and then delete). Going back to it and quickly throwing something together, I can now no longer fit the massive engine nor the tires I was getting onto it yesterday. Perhaps it was my game was acting up? I've never experienced anything like that before. I'm certain it was the 2.05 body and not the 2.6 as well.

My bad guys, it appears the smaller body isn't capable of what I said.

I'm actually collating data on all the challenges, and I've just realised you didn't specify a deadline on this one. People tend not to enter if they don't have a deadline.
