Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

Seems Simple enough, only a few questions first.

-Year Tech? I assume 2015, but I like to be sure.

-A coupe means a 2 door car, a sedan is a 4 door car, please decide which you'd like it to be.

-why the limit on interior? If we can fit it within the budget, it would be difficult, but I think it should be allowed.

-What Criteria are the cars being judged by, and will there be rewards/reviews at all?

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

Too restrictive for my liking. Coupes with 4 doors and/or back seats are not coupes IMO (I would make exception for 2+2 coupes). Limiting number of cylinders goes against my thinking about coupes as well. Sports Coupe means a two door automobile with a sporty engine and chassis, and appealing sporty aesthetics. I can understand limiting displacement for some element of competitiveness, but the rest just doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

I can appreciate excluding V12s because of boost to prestige etc. (if the contest did not take into account engineering costs). Maybe the contest name is misleading, and instead it should be the "Budget Family Sport" challenge, because that's the target demographic cited in the criteria. Budget because of the V8 exclusion too!

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

small comment, I made a 4 door 2.0 I4 16v N/A non DI and very basic just to have a go with my motto of "rear wheels or all of them"

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

A coupe is not defined by the number of doors it has, just its visual appeal and design a few four door coupes (Gran Coupes/GT) are

1. BMW M-6 Gran Goupe
2. Mercedes CLA Gran Cope/ Shooting Brake
3. BMW 3/5 Series GT

the year is 1994/2004

if it is a 4 door you must call it a Gran Coupe/Shooting Brake/GT.

You can now use V8s for top of the range models up to 5.0l NA no Turbocharging

Manche can you send me the files for it if you are finished
p.s. love your motto!

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

I note you have referred to two BMWs in your examples. That explains a lot... They are terrible examples because BMW "coupé" tends to have convoluted identity crisis :P

Hmm my car now is too measly to compete as FSP contender, I may have to go for a bigger, fancier platform

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

Sorry but BMW 3 / 5 GT are not coupes and especially not sporty...it is just wrong. Shooting brake is not supposed to be here either but it is debateable. Not important for the challenge I know but I can't help myself. Get your facts straight :)

Re: Sports Coupe Challenge

Quick question about fuel quality, assuming no go for ultimate, but is premium/super ok? Assuming premium until response :)

(Btw, 95 octane is regular, and 98 is premium in Norway)
