Congratulations! Through sheer grit and determination, or, blind luck, you managed to survive the Apocalypse. And while your God shakes his fits at you from the Heavens, you and the rest of Humanity try and rebuild. Among the ruins of the your city, you and your merry band of soon-to-be cannibals find a place to set up shop. After a few weeks all is well. You've procured weapons, food, and survival gear. And every day, your search parties are bringing back people and supplies. However, they will soon breach the red zone. A range where no one will be able to help if someone is hurt. So, you put the word out to search for vehicles, and your team comes back with everything you need: The fast(ish) recon scout vehicle, the supply truck, the bus, they even managed to find a Tank. However, they were unable to find an ambulance. So you task your mechanics to build you one from scratch

First and foremost, this a post-apocalyptic wasteland. That means no new cars. I'm not going by "year" I'm going by quality. That said, the year of the vehicle is irrelevant, so yes, you can build a brand new car, however, all entries must have the quality set to -15.

You can use any body style you damn well please with a couple of exceptions.
[*]No mid or rear engine cars.
Because ... duh.
[*]It must be big enough to fit (at least most of) you, your medical supplies, your medic, and the wounded party.
By "most of", I mean I don't care if the dudes feet are hanging out the rear window.
[*]It must be made of some form of metal.
The wasteland is rough, so using a plastic or CF car for a hospital transport is stupid.
[*]Engine placement doesn't matter.
[*]Suspension must be MacPherson for the front, and anything less than DW on the back.
Its being rebuilt with found materials, not constructed in a state of the art factory.

Use any fixture you want. Spoilers, flood lights, whatever. Points will be awarded for originality.

Yes. You can have AWD or 4x4.

As for the engine, I don't care how you build it, as long as it doesn't have the following.
[*]No flatplane V8's
[*]No AlSi or Magnesium
[*]No turbo's.
[*]No direct Injection
[*]No Racing headers
[*]No Catalytic Converter
[*]No Muffler

[*]Use low quality fuel as you'll likely be using old fuel from broken-down cars.

Ok, for the set up.
[*]Auto or Manual, no slapp-crap.
[*]Max of six gears.
[*]Any locker worse than viscous.

[*]Hard tires
[*]'15 steel rims (Don't care if they're after market)

[*]Whatever set up you want for the breaks as long as you're not using CC.

[*]No aerodynamics

[*]Whatever set up you want for the interior.

Max cost, $9000

In short, make the shittiest car you can, thats big enough to fit you, a corpse, and a box of medical supplies in the back of, and we'll sling it around a few tracks.

*Edit* you will be scored on cheapness, shittiness of your design, and place in each race. You'll have until Thursday morning.

When sending your files, have them labled as (your name here) - PAAC; and use the following folder format: two folders, one entitled "Engines" the other, "Cars". In the engines folder, make two more, called "Families" and "Variants" respectively. In the "Cars" Folder, make two more called "Models" and "Trims". Place the relevant files where they go.

Awesome. Let's make a shit box!

Edit: Does everything need -15 quality?

Racing headers required or banned? I'm confused.

Does every quality slider have to be -15? Kinda relevant for the end product.
Other than this question, great idea, love the concept!

You have a no rear or mid-engine requirement and then a rule that says that engine placement doesn't matter. You either have a typo and meant to type "displacement" or you need to fix the discrepancy.

It probably is meant to say displacement, but he/she/they missed the "dis" prefix.

Sooo we still want to tune it for track times or how will this be scored if scored at all?

Ooh, mad max style!

Note that the order of the items on the menus do not necessarily follow worst to best, but least to most recent. Therefore, technically, a geared LSD will appear higher on the list than viscous but is for all purposes way better than a viscous diff. Thus, really, what 'anything worse than' a viscous diff really means is open, manual or auto locker, and nothing more than that.

To clarify the suspension, too, the rear cannot be DW, multilink or pushrod, but everything else is fair game.

I do not understand why 'partial aluminium' is not metal, if all aluminium is. Partial just means some of the panels are aluminium and the others steel.

Also, using a CF car gives the greatest environmental resistance, just saying ;) It's also prohibitively rare and expensive and you'll never find a car to suit your needs on the budget you need in CF so that's a moot point.

By 'make it big enough' I assume that you mean that it needs at least 2 seats (that's every car around here), and at least a couple hundred liters of cargo space?

Finally, is there a limitation on the year or can we go all the way up to 2020?

First off, quality must be -15 because it's a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You're not gonna find a mint condition Ferrari in the desert.
Secondly, Strop in on point with everything, good thing he speaks fluent Vos. Lol.
Thirdly, let's set a max of 2016.

No mid or rear engine placement, however, both front long, and front Trans are acceptable.

but.... even 'from scratch' means putting it together from stuff that you found right?

what if we found stuff from ex super/hyper car? shouldn't like some parts like CC disc brakes allowed? if any would even use them

No, because they'd be impractical I'd imagine. Plus, they're über expensive and you probably wouldn't be able to afford them with the given budget.

Is there Ultimate fuel in waste land :D

edit: and probably no driver assists? Power steering maybe?
edit2: active and adaptive springs, dampers etc.?

Power steering and ABS are okay, nothing else.

Just basic springs.
