You seem to be really enjoying the V12 release, Lordred. You've been using them in everything lately.

You could fit three of my engine in there :lol: Probably overtake my car three times in the time it takes it to make one lap around the Automation test track, too.

Introducing the 1996 variant of the 1990 Luther Moderna. Featuring an extensive facelift and improved interior over previous models, the Luther Moderna is all you need for "Driving in the Modern age".

I meant the V12 one. I have a sub-200 hp FWD I4, so it's no performance car...

I find it humorous you are worried about a 1.6L SOHC V12.

Re: 1996 Saloon Shootout - {Open}

Seems like a lot of different engine ideas here, it should be interesting to see the results. That said I think I made a mistake aiming for real life comparisons in terms of fuel economy...

Also carlover if size is your concern you should be more worried about my 4.1L v6 than his 1.6L v12

4.2L V6 here. I think I've got pretty good fuel efficiency for such a big engine and an automatic.

Let's say I looked here http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/byclass/Midsize_Cars1996.shtml and made sure my economy was in the range of the combined scores.

Same. I built fairly realistically regarding fuel efficiency.

Re: 1996 Saloon Shootout - {Open}

Mine would be considered quite fuel efficient for 1996, but nothing extreme, so I guess it fits in the realistic levels as well.

I just made one for fun, to try to see what I could do with a motor like that - 1.6L V12 made a great amount of power for it's size, about 116 horse, about what I'd expect from a similar sized I4, maybe better even.
