Re: Homologation 1988 Group Automation [Closed]

It almost certainly won't, because the weightings of the contest versus the demographics which most of the cars are strong in differ quite a lot. No offroad vs strongly weighted for offroad, for starters.

My car's a rebel so I don't expect it to win at all, but it was fun to mix it up a bit!

Side effects of your design. At least you know you won't have any issues with homologation. I, on the other hand, definitely need to use my other 2 market categories.

10th Place: 178.48 points
Boss Motorsports - R9300: “It is an unruly vehicle that suffers from major over steer issues, it will fill a niche market, but we hope it is intended for limited production.”
9th Place: 184.90 points
SME - Bombay: “When you want your sports car to feel like everything was cheapened up in the end just to save weight.”
8th Place: 187.63 points

7th Place: 190.74 points
Weiler - Varro: “Inexpensive to own, easy to operate, surprisingly durable and as uncomfortable as it gets.”
6th Place: 194.02 points
Luxus - SPR-219: “Reports show that the SPR-219 takes 40% longer to build compared to the other cars in this class, but is the least memorable.”
5th Place: 205.28 points

2nd Place: 212.22 points
Komodo - Kadai Buredo: “With it’s sleek styling, and amazingly easy drive at high speeds, we can almost forgive it for its lowest in class off-road performance.”
1st Place: 251.24 points
Shromet - Radiant: “This is what happens then Practicality and Utility decide to make a Rally car, as indomitable off the pavement, as it is on.

Re: Homologation 1988 Group Automation [Results]

Well done to koolkei after all :P barely more than a tenth separated us, but your car turned out to score excellently in this challenge. Congrats to DrNarfy for topping the charts too.

I'm pleasantly surprised at these results, managing this much after I sacrificed a fair bit of ground to accomodate an odd preference. At least it'll make for an interesting review.

Re: Homologation 1988 Group Automation [Results]

oh wow 2nd place. good enough :)

also, thx strop, you also have done a great job being competitive with the only MR car here.
and i didnt even notice the very tiny point difference until you mentioned it.

and congrats DrNarfy. you got the best car and when you look at the last page, it seems to be the most profitable.

wondering..... what kind of offroad stats did you guys have? mine are..... 18

just noticed... my car's name.
it's Kasai not Kadai

Hey, they might be a bad choice, but hey, you have a street legal rally car that can BLINK! ;)

Well, i did kind of expect a middle of the pack result, i screwed a few things up

Re: Homologation 1988 Group Automation [Results]

I think mine was like 27. Or 24. I can't remember which suspension I ended up choosing.

Also, 2nd through to 5th were all within 7 points of each other, really very close.

Strop had a 31.7 Offroad stat, the 3rd highest.
KLinardo had a 37.3 Offroad stat, for 2nd.
DoctorNarfy had a 39.2 Offroad stat, for 1st highest, and 1st overall.

Off-road was = to importance to Drivability, and Sportiness, the Doctor beat out the AVG in all 3 stats, and had the lowest negative modifers. He built a car directly aimed at the scoring system, and had the most profitable car doing so.

Re: Homologation 1988 Group Automation [Results]

now that i read that...

to think that i got 2nd place even when saying screw offroad scores O_O

this has to be some mistake..... right? or did i just really have the drivability and sportiness THAT high?
