Re: Sell on Monday, Win on Sunday [Race Three - Practice]

That's odd, though. Laguna Seca isn't a new track...

I knew I was going to lose spots here. I should have gone with TUBRO POWA! Unless of course, my sports trim did exceedingly well. I guess that part remains to be seen!

Obnoxious threadbreaking question, but how do you edit that image like that? I've seen people do it everywhere, but I have no idea how.

What I meant is that it is new to the brobot calculations, Martin hadn't used it on the BRC yet.

And about it being in the classification sheet, my bad. Totally forgot about that one.

This information is actually kind of hard to find, and suggests that one ought to make a thread specifically about it at some point.

In this case, I believe it was done using a console command. Press '~' then type '/HideBuildings()' (case sensitive), and the background will vanish. If you have FXAA enabled, it'll be opaque black, and if you have FXAA disabled, it *should* be transparent. However I haven't checked to see if transparency on screenshot is still functioning as of this version.

Is /HideBuildings() a toggle, or do you have to type a different command to get the background back again?

I've never actually tried to get the background again (it will automatically come back when you change trim). But I took a guess and apparently ShowBuildings() will toggle the background back on :P

For starters, the Automation Kee engine allows for a 'snapshop' of the viewer by pressing the little camera icon in the upper right hand corner. When you do this, the game will generate an image almost four times the display areas resolution (more pixles always in the end will allow for higher detail)

The quality of the image is determined by your graphics settings, and the time it takes to 'render' the image depends wholly on your computer.

If you want to generated a transparency image, you will need to make sure you have FXAA turned off, and after you hit the tide key (~) while playing, the games command console will appear, type HideBuildings() (exactly as you see it) and this will hide the background.

You will then find your screenshot in Documents-->My Games-->Automation-->Photos if you have the default install path. Where you can edit the image in your software of choice. If you wish to include graphs from the engine tab, you will need to take a seperate screenshot using a screen capture program, and simply edit the image.

Now remember if is also a rule that the image cannot surpass 900kb, so keep that in mind.

Here are some examples of what happens based on a 'picture' shot captured, and down sampled to 1366px wide.

Both images have the same cropping, and both are scaled to 1366px wide.

This was taken from the game with a base resolution of 1280x720.

And this was taken from the game with a base resolution of 3456x1944 (because automation wont run @ 4k :) )

Interesting! I might not have a chance to get many points, but it looks like I might be in a bit of a race. :)

Onwards to the third race of the season, held at the iconic circuit of Monza, Italy. There will be commentary by Pyrlix, NormanVauxhall and me, unless something bad happens, on Pyrlix' twitch account.
The race will take place on Thursday 19th, at 19:30 UTC (2:30 pm Eastern US/20:30 Central Europe). I hope to see you all then!
