V6 Supercar's Season 1 (closed untill further notice)

Introduction:

Hi, V6 Supercars is a parody of the Australian V8 Supercars with the new V6's. Due to there being different manufacture cars and engines in V8 Supercars, I will do something similar. The First Stage of the compitition will be the engine designing stage. In this engine stage you guys can build your engines and send them to me. After two weeks I will post the stats for each engine and there will be a link to a strawpoll in which the top five chosen engines will be avalible to use for anyone who enters the compitition. The next stage is the car design stage. This is pretty much the same as the engine stage but you are building your car. Remember not to tune your cars as these won't be the final competitors. Again top five chosen cars will be avalible to use in the compitition. The third stage is the tuning stage where any car and engine combination is avalible for you to use. In this stage you get to tune you cars for the first race. The final stage is setting you race strategy and the racing itself. In this stage I will post important information like weather and lap amount and how long each tyre type last's on average. Then the racing happens. Before each race i will repeat stage 3 and 4 so you can setup your car for each track accordingly.
Edit:
I have decided that the lack of engines mean that there will only be three engine surpliers for the compitition

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

No additional restrictions on the engine seems a bit mad.

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

I'd at least add a cost or hour limit.

When you write Man hours, do you mean Production Units?

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

Because you say no changing quality sliders under tuning.

Does that mean we can't use any when designing our engine and cars?

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

No you can use quality sliders. Once the top 5 engines are chosen however you will have to pick one of them to use and from that point you will not be able to alter it.

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

For shorting your nameing conversion, but to still be easy on you.

Would you accept "V6SC-(Username)-Family" / "V6SC-(Username)-Variant" for the engine submission?

If so, I would like to submit a motor by LHE for this competition.

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

I might give it a shot, see how far I can push an OHV motor and wonder if it'll have a prayer against anything anyone else here musters.

Re: V6 Supercar's (Engine stage)

I played around with the process, and have found some potential issues that are likely to require arbitration from the OP so we know where we stand:

  • If using lighter materials, it's possible to make ridiculously large engines. I don't know if they'll all fit in all the available bodies, so a decision should be made as to which bodies are available
  • The cost of the engine factors into the cost of the car, so do we need to decide on an engine before we make the car, and the car comes bundled with that particular engine?
I'll probably have some more questions later :P
