Hi guys.

Today, I had the pleasure to present the 24 hours of Le Mans of 1989 (C-Era).

The rules (I only found in the ACO the weight) are these:

Group C prototypes (C1 & C2).

C1
    -Minimum weight: 840 kg.
    -Tech year: 1989
    -Engine type: all.
    -Only injection fuel system, and 98 leaded fuel (or unleaded if exists in the 1989).
    -Race exhaust and race intake only.
    -5 valve per cylinder allowed.
    -ONLY BODY ALLOWED: LMP C-ERA BODY.
    -Maximum rims size: 17". Quality slider must be set to +15.
    -None maximum engine capacity.
    -TURBOS Allowed
    -ONLY RWD!
    -The engine reliability they be equal or more than 7.6 (LeMans 24 Hours had 4500 km aprox. in 330-380 laps).
    -The interior must be set to basic, and quality sliders to -15.
    -The only assist accepted is the assisted steering, ABS and traction control, and the quality slider must be set to 0, and the entertainment must be NONE).
    -The security can be ONLY BASIC (with slider at 0).
    -The costs and man hours doesn't import.
    -The car MUST BE HAVE: headlights, tailights, indicators and wings (rear and front. Max. 2 wings in total: 1 front and 1 rear).

For C2 Class (privateer teams), you NEED TO USE A C1 ENGINE OR CUSTOM ENGINE and chassis from C1 (but you can modify the body design and morphing, and setup the suspension only). To get this, you need to contact with the official brand that participates in the race of the C1 class entries.

Entries in C-Class:

    -RoyalStig (Griffin LMPC)-> C1 Class.->Out of race.
    -vivtho (Nelli Auto S088 Sk8te)-> C1 Class.
    -DoctorNarfy (Shromet L-Type)-> C1 Class.
    -Riso (Riso LM89) ->C1 Class.
    -reeve509 (LMT Type 89)->C1 Class.
    -MITTNACHT (HYPERSPEED AG LMC1-Proto Turbo R)->C1 Class.
    -kimaru (Kimaru LMP R600)->C1 Class.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
To participate, sent me a PM with this structure:
-Brand of car:
-Model:
-Class: (C1 or C2).
-Username:

The *.lua file of the car must be named [89-*Category*-username-model], which *category* is C1 or C2.
And think that the ratio fuel consumption/power is important. Select in the menu: "export, and in "documents/My Games/Automation/export" will have a ZIP file that you need to sent to me (no individual files).

Only one player per car, please.

Let's go!

Please, try to use the stuff from Steam Workshop.

And the limit day to present the submissions is the 20 of July of 2015 (in GMT: +01:00, the limit hour is 0:00h)..

Which of the bodys are allowed? You have 2 different in the rules.
C-era LMP and '60s pre-wedge.

I recommend reading strop's thread.

To make a TL:DR, don't set a minimum weight and then lock all the interior options, we use those to adjust the weight accurately.

Also, you are linking to the old modpack, the new one is a .zip.

Ok that seams resonable so far.

-ONLY BODY ALLOWED: LMP C-ERA BODY.
-Maximum rims size: 17". Quality slider must be set to +15.
-You only can use this body: 60s Pre-Wedge Supercar (download these pack to avoid problems: http://37.120.160.45/AutomationModPack.rar) Source: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=5289 (the credits is for all authors who make 3d mods for Automation).

Wait, I am confused, are we using
Car-c.jpg

or not?

-None maximum engine capacity.
-TURBOS Allowed
-The engine reliability they be equal or more than 7.6 (LeMans 24 Hours had 4500 km aprox. in 330-380 laps).

ok. ok.

-The interior must be set to basic, and quality sliders to -15.

what, why?

-The security can be ONLY BASIC (with slider at 0).
-The car MUST BE HAVE: headlights, tailights, indicators and wings (rear and front. Max. 2 wings in total: 1 front and 1 rear).
-Lips FORBIDDEN.

What? Yes to wings, no to lips, and we cant have safety of our choice in a race car? that makes no sense.

I am so confused

I'm really looking forward to participating in this challenge. However, no lips allowed but it is allowed to fit a wing in the front seems a bit unnatural to me.

Also how is the winner determined? Are we going to have a brobot type of race or is it going to be abstracted with a single lap time and reliability?

The body issue solved: yes, the 80s C body.

And the winner is determined with a Excel tab (you can download this in the last le mans race that I've organised), and is a simulation of the race in 24 hours (is different to the BWM race), and the fuel consumption is important.

And the lips, yep, I will enable this. And some C-ERA cars had a front wing: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... 850802.jpg

The track is here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5632

Only the C-ERA.

Moderator Edit: Please don't do MultiPosts. Ok.

So they are valid to use in the front now? If so, please edit the OP.

The Shromet L-Type, a prototype based on the unrelieved 1990 Shromet Dragon Concept car, that never made it to production.

It was indeed not the best idea to post it here but here's a suggestion to make your car 3 seconds faster: Set the rear camber to -1.5.

Edit: You can gain another 6 seconds revving the engine to 9100.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure if anybody has this issue, but whenever i adjust the tune too much, I test it on the track and the game crashes.
