Mmm, I'll definitely take your advice on board. Getting it right could be rather important.

I still wouldn't mind banning the non-sprite, just on the back of how many bodies that brings into play.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

Glad to be of service! I figure if fuel consumption is important, we should probably have some way to estimate it before Training #1.

Provided the races are 60+ minutes long, using Der Bayer's footprint-based fuel tank size rule, and assuming the new tyre model reduces the advantage of low weight? I don't think banning any bodies will be necessary. Like I said, none of the '55 not-Sprites could finish a 75-minute Automation Test Track race on a single tank of fuel.

Maybe do what some race formulas had; Minimum Length.
So you don't end up with this situation:

Already got a sub-2:30 on the Automation Test Track in the new build using the 1955 rules. :D

BRC 1955 is over - BRC 1965 has not yet been scheduled. We're all looking forward to it, though.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

So quite a while back when people were speculating about the 1965 BRC a few people put together some cars and the time to beat was something like 2:32 in the non-sprite. Well..... my unmodified (except suspension was reset to "normal") GT style car from before the update could manage about 2:36... now its already doing 2:31, its only at .20 hp/kg, and I have over $1k left to spend...... Me gusta :)

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

Now that the BROBOT calcs are in the game this will really level the playing field so it's not a matter of trying to second guess two sets of simulations!

I'll wait until the rules come out until I make anything, but I'm ready to go anytime! IIRC I just missed the podium last time, the competition is surely stiff!

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

I have been busy travelling, but from now on there should be more time to fix the remaining issues. Still no ETA though, but I would like it to start the first race sooner than in 3 months. :)
