The challenge is Simple. You have to build the best inline 4 engine possible. The rules are as follows:
Natural aspiration
Reliability of 20 or more
Max price $18,000
To enter, Message the LUA file of the engine to me.
Weight 155kg max
9000 RPM Limit
To enter, private message the LUA file, along with your name, the engine name and the name of your company.

How will you judge which engine is the best?

And is there a ranking/scoring system? Is just one 'winner' chosen?

To answer the questions, there will be a points system. Engines will be judged on 5 factors: Power, torque, reliability, responsiveness and material cost. Points will be awarded for each category as follows:
1st place - 5 points
2nd place - 4 points
3rd place - 3 points
4th place - 2 points
5th place - 1 point
hope that helps

I'm curious... Is this engine supposed to end up in a car? Given the limitations, it sounds like you're intent on making a large displacement i4 which is quite unusual!

The point is not to put it in a car. this is merely an engineering showcase to prove what is possible, much like concept cars a car shows
