How will you judge which engine is the best?

And is there a ranking/scoring system? Is just one 'winner' chosen?

Re: Ultimate inline 4

To answer the questions, there will be a points system. Engines will be judged on 5 factors: Power, torque, reliability, responsiveness and material cost. Points will be awarded for each category as follows:

1st place - 5 points
2nd place - 4 points
3rd place - 3 points
4th place - 2 points
5th place - 1 point

hope that helps

Re: Ultimate inline 4

I'm curious... Is this engine supposed to end up in a car? Given the limitations, it sounds like you're intent on making a large displacement i4 which is quite unusual!

Re: Ultimate inline 4

The point is not to put it in a car. this is merely an engineering showcase to prove what is possible, much like concept cars a car shows
