1975 Compact Turbo Cup (Final Race Results)

Being the first year they were available to everyone, this seems like a good place to start the compact turbo cup. It's all about being small and fast. In that spirit, it is limited to inline 4 engines.

The no mods rule is mostly so everyone is on a fair even playing field.

Entry open until January 5th.

The tracks will be disclosed after the closing of the entries. This way no one tunes for just those tracks. That means we may have only super smooth high speed tracks, to only highly technical mountain climbs on so much dirt. Please plan accordingly! Not even I know, I will be using a tool to randomly select the tracks so not even my reference car has an edge. :)

Name your lua, "1975-CTC-<Username>.lua". So for example, my lua would be "1985-CTC-BitTwiddler.lua". I will only accept the first car you send to me (that qualifies), I don't want to hassle over revisions.

Send your lua, car name, username and nationality to me via PM.

  • xABSOLUTIONx - AED Talon

I'll work on this sometime tomorrow... but really? Jan 5th? That's a pretty short design cycle.

I think that for a lot of people, just the injection system is going to be 1/4 the price of their car.

Still, this will probably be a fun competition.

I don't want to spend forever on getting entries in. That and I have to leave on the 9th, and I will not be sure of my computer access for awhile after that. So I want to get the races mostly done by then.

BEHOLD THE LATEST IN UNICORN HARNESSING TECHNOLOGY! THE ARDENT PIPER GT-X CONCEPT!

Now with more badge-induced horsepower.

(There, strop... now we're even. And sorry BitTwiddler. I had to pay up. Obviously for legality reasons I didn't include the badges in the official LUA I sent you.)

Hehe well then I too shall join this sparkle party

The year number can't be a coincidence! This being the year the first Golf GTI was unveiled, given I already ran a Mk.III in the 1600 cup, and a Mk.II in the Group B Rally, now it is only fitting I run a Mk.I here :D

Now with ultra fat tyres and stupid amounts of boost, to just squeak through the regulations! When in doubt, more power :D

(This is not a Gryphon Gear associated entry, I don't think any of the employees of GG would even have been born when these cars came out...)

Well it could be the GG forebearer, obviously someone must have inspired GG. At least if it was (is?) a real group.

Gryphon Gear (fictional company for Automation playing purposes) was founded in 2014, starting out as a tuning house and custom parts builder mainly for local (Australian) HSV Holdens (much to my personal distaste), until it broke into the extreme tuner and pro racing scene. You could loosely say that any tournament that allows for the tuning of high powered cars for racing is inspiration, as each of the core group of the company have unique interests and they as a whole now work on a wide variety of projects.

But as this one stands, since the year is 1975 I shall enter it independently, as part of my "tuner Golf" collection

Well shit, there goes the neighborhood.

I too am playing the BOOOOOOOST game. But I'm afraid I'm not as good at it as strop.

Yeah, his entry puts my reference car to a good amount of shame.

I shall step in with this, the Baltazar Purple Haze!

Interestingly, this is even faster than my commie car, even though it is 5 years older, and has the worst power curve know to human kind.

I hope my sleep deprived brain hasn't cocked anything up and failed to follow some rules which, it being nearly 4 am, I could have misread.
