Pay It Forward Design Challenge [B1418, Closed]

So I came up with the idea of this challenge a couple days ago when I was having conversations with Strop and np1993 about the "Cars You Don't Brag About" thread. I ended up issuing a challenge to Strop with a whole bunch of restrictions, to see if he could design a car given the constraints and a goal. And of course he did, because he's nuts like that. :D

Then I began to wonder what would happen if we made it into sort of a chain challenge. Whoever completes the last leg of the challenge comes up with a set of restrictions and a goal for the next person on the list, and so on and so forth. Something that is out of the norm for what that person normally builds, or something you think might trip them up.

There are no winners/losers in this challenge as it is not officially graded. Of course, "feedback" from the community is always encouraged when a challenge is issued/completed. :D

However, if the community agrees that an entry is hilariously terrible (not necessarily through the fault of the builder), it must be posted in np1993's "Cars You Don't Brag About" thread.

So what I'd like to see is if we have some brave volunteers/victims who would be willing to submit themselves to this challenge.

And to get it going, I'll be the first victim. Since Strop knows the kinds of restrictions I have in mind here, I call on him to set the first restrictions/goal on me. I don't want the challenge to start right away, though, because I'd like to get a list of people going who are willing to try.

***NOTE: CHALLENGERS ARE EXPECTED TO ISSUE SCENARIOS THAT ARE INTERESTING AND FUN, BUT REASONABLY POSSIBLE. IF NO ONE CAN BEAT YOUR SCENARIO, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A LUA FILE AS PROOF OF POSSIBILITY. ***

Re: Pay It Forward Design Challenge

Thanks for the response so far guys. Looks like there is enough interest to run with this.

So what I had Strop do was take the LUA file for my '55 Stumpy and he had to remake it with some... restrictions.

Basically, he had a neighbor with a "junkyard" that he could use for some parts, and he was allowed to make either:

a RWD car with a 2l (or smaller) early-90's engine or any size early 84's I-6 engine (with some additional restrictions... certain intakes, exhaust manifolds, A/F mixtures, etc.) and build it in a '57 year body with the same build quality as the original LUA... OR...

An AWD 1990 body with a 1980 "experimental" V8 engine from my company (that he could not modify in any way), but to use that 1990 year for the body he had to take a significant quality hit on all the body sliders.

His goal was to make a mud-bogger out of the poor old Stumpy. Besides all the equipment restrictions, I gave him a minimum level of offroad (35+ if RWD), and he self-inflicted himself with the desire to do the Green Hell in under 10 minutes.

He succeeded.

That's just to give you guys an idea of the kind of torture you should be thinking about for your "Victim".

Strop: Post your challenge to me in this thread, with all your restrictions and any necessary LUA files for anything you want to throw at me. Make it a challenge, but doable, like the one I gave you. Something not exactly in my wheelhouse.

Everyone else: Pay attention to what he does to me. I'll be coming up with a set of restrictions for Slim Jim after Strop gives me his. Slim Jim will figure something out for TheTom's torture, TheTom gets to pick on Pleb, etc.

I'll add to the end of the list anyone else who signs up. Once we get to the end, the last person can circle back and throw one at me.

If we like it and do another round, I'll randomize the order. And of course: y'all who haven't signed up can still join in! :D
